Front Door moved??
IDK what mod I downloaded that may have done this, the only one I recently downloaded was the Scolding mod from another of my posts here and a couple of nude skins I got a few weeks ago. I'm not even sure it's a mod at fault or if maybe by using Retuner I've caused the problem?Or if it's just something that happens?  anyway!  I have recently played 3 of my different town/games and in every one of them the "Front Door" of the house had been switched to the back door.  At first I didn't notice, but then newspapers were piled up at the back porch and all my sims were going out the back door to go to work. LOL  Which is the long way around in most all cases.
At first I just thought it was some stupid routing thing that sims do sometimes, like teens and children walking up 3 flights of stairs to use a desk when there's one right off the foyer from the door. But the newspapers were a dead givaway and I of course I easily switched the homes back to the actual front door. But I'm wondering if anyone has had this occur, will it happen again and could it be a mod or just some freak thing?

There may well be another explanation, but I think I've seen (if not imagining it) goofy things like this happen if the back door happens to be closer to a road (any road) than the intended front door is.

I've seen this occasionally too.  It usually happens to me after I extensively remodel the house in build mode.  I always assume I've moved or replaced the front door or done something that cause the game to re-evaluate which door should be designated the 'front' one.

Well, the door is plenty far from the road in all 3 towns, so sidewalk proximity is not it. Two of the homes are on 60x60 lots with enough space for another normal size home between it and the sidewalk. The third home is on a 50x50 and the front door is about 6 squares back. All three are huge mansions and routing out the back door makes their journey to leave way longer. And of course once the front doors are set back as the front doors again, they go back to using that door as the main one and the newspaper gets left by that door again as well.
But it may be because I have done some extensive remodeling of my towns as of late? Not so much the active sims home though.  So IDK?  Again,it's not a big deal since I can just switch it back, but just was curious what could cause this. :-)

Hopefully JohnL83 won't mind me getting into his topic with my question, because I have a similar problem. Can someone faced such problem on a public lot?

The game usually picks a door on a public lot to be the arrival point of sims (at least in my games).  Sometimes the door the game picks is an odd one.  The only way to designate a front door on a public lot that works for me is to use DebugEnabler.   Door>NRaas>DebugEnabler>chose one of the two 'Options:' buttons, for me it's usually the top one>Door... (if this line isn't showing try the other 'Options:' button)>Set as Front Door.

Sometimes you can enable testing cheats and CTRL+SHIFT click on a community lot door to set it to the front door.  But that hasn't worked for me for ages.

I wouldn't agree with that. I built a consignment store. There was a main building  with goods, cash register  and seller. And there was an extension where there was a kitchen and a bathroom. And now guess, far stubbornly preferred go all sims. And yes, there are no roads in the back.

But thank you, TreyNutz. This method worked.

I agree Sara_Darkees. (that's a lovely building by the way!)  I've had sims route themselves in all kinds of strange ways that can't possibly be shorter.
I'd be curious to know what the games system is for figuing out that type of routing. It's also a shame there isn't a way for them to "know" another sim is headed for the same object. IE going to a table where they all want the same seat, or heading for the same toilet etc. I'd love to meet the sadistic developer who thought it would be cute to have them complain every time they have a routing issue. LOL!

Thanks, construction is one of the favorite entertainments. I guess the most common problem is the stairs, right? Well, really, it are not considered a bad case in routing. If I were a developer, I would think "it's okay, they will survive these trifles, I'm tired and want to go home" :D It's bad, but not deadly. And the main entrance is likely that is assigned is totally random. Besides, as it turned out, it's easy to fix. But let's remember TS4 fans. Their wards do not always sit at the dining table to eat. Sometimes they do it anywhere, but not in the right place. That's more annoying.
