What do I do with gravestones?

My legacy save us beginning to creak at the seams, so I've set up a new version of the town (Finnington) and am almost ready to use Nraas Porter to move all my main families into it. But I'm not sure what I ought to do about the graveyard. I copied it from the old save and placed in the the new, and at the moment it contains all the gravestones than have been placed there to date. Should I leave them there, or delete them? Or should I move them into the inventories of the families concerned. I don't want to lose any of the revered ancestors, nor do I want ghostly clones roaming about at night.

This is not my area of expertise at all, but I believe the sims buried in the graveyard will have no relationships or connections to the sims being Portered if they are placed in the world independently of the packed up sims and households instead of being packed up with them.

That's what I figured. I remember the last time I tried something like that I had to send the ghosts living descendants to the graveyard, wait for the ghosts to appear, and then use Master Controller to re-connect them. I suppose I'd better put the gravestones into their inventories then. I think I'll set up a duplicate save and give it a trial run. Thanks Igazor.

If the graveyard was copied to the Library and the Library copy is placed in the new world the ghosts will not be there the game will not save those ghosts with the Library copy.

Yes pretty sure the library exporter discards any data saved with the gravestones and they just become "remains" tombstones.

Porter should be smart enough to handle them for you if there's family ties when you pack per Porter-FAQ#How-does-porter-handle-the-buried-dead

It should automatically recreate the graves for you.
