Ice Cream Trucks

I don't know whether this is an issue with Traffic, or any other Nraas mod, but it is something that Traffic doesn't seem to fix.

I set things so there is only one Ice Cream Truck, but when the damned thing appears outside my lot it won't go away. It just sits there, chiming away and driving me to distraction! If I reset it, it will drive away, but it always comes back and does just the same thing! And now there is a new complication, because there seem to be two out of sinc chimes coming from it, for double the annoyance! And now I fear I have made things worse, because in desperation I used Debug Enabler to move it into my family inventory so I could sell the thing, with the result that there is now an invisible demon Ice Cream Truck driving around the town.

I have tried setting Traffic so there are no Ice Cream Trucks, but that doesn't seem to work - there is always that one Ice Cream Truck from Hell. Please save me!

Ah yes, First World Problems. :D (sorry, I know that's not really helpful..)

NRaas > Traffic > Ice Cream Trucks > Allow Visits to Residential Lots > False
NRaas > Traffic > Ice Cream Trucks > Allow Visits to Active Lot > False
Actually, the first one set to False should cause the second one to no longer have an effect even if it were True. Do these not have the desired impact?

NRaas > Traffic > Ice Cream Trucks > Max Ice Cream Trucks > ...I'm not sure if 0 here means there is no maximum or if it really sets it to 0. Have you tried using -1?

On the rogue remaining one, instead of using DE in that manner I would have tried Flushing it using, on the world lot (a road or sidewalk), MC > Object Stats > Non-Inventory (or Local, Global, any that cause it to appear on the list for selection). Does that do any good now, and can you also flush the one out of the family inventory or is that one gone already?

And if none of that helps, do you have any other mods from other sources or tunings in place having to do with the trucks that might be interfering with things?

0 shuts them down completely

Igazor: Yes, your first two suggestions work. The thing has ceased calling at my lot now, thank goodness. If I could just work out why it was getting stuck outside my lot, and stop it doing so, it would be nice to have the thing popping by from time to time.

The 'phantom' ice cream truck appears to have vanished now, I can't see its icon anywhere on the map. So I think sittingbear is right - it just takes a while. And I managed to sell the one I put in the family inventory. I was afraid of it getting stuck there - that has happened before. Sometimes vehicles, such as police cars, get abandoned outside my lot. I think the sims who are supposed to drive them get re-set for some reason. I'll try what you suggest next time it happens.

I can't think of any other mods I have that could possibly be messing with things: nothing to do vehicles of any kind. But I shall continue to investigate.

Anyway, thank you both for your help.

I've never had one stay in front of my sims house the Ice Cream Trucks I would get were more like stalkers. My sim goes to the beach the Ice Cream Truck waits out by the road, goes to the park waits out by the road, goes to a friends house waits out by the road, goes to work waits out by the road, etc...But would never stay by my sims house.

I've had my sims stalked by those trucks as they crossed the burning hot Al Simharan desert. My theory at the time was that some game developer got the words "desert" and "dessert" confused. :D

I was trying to shoot a scene for a story post in a world that doesn't have any roads, just paths. But it seemed like every time I lined up a really good shot I suddenly noticed the ice cream truck in the background. Every time I got rid of it, it came back! I'm sure it is the ice cream world's version of the Flying Dutchman: doomed to travel the sim worlds forever, tempting hot and thirsty sims with cooling refreshments, and driving people mad with its constant jingling.
