Traveler

I have been playing this world for quite a long time and it’s a pretty big world so I checked the size of nhd file. It’s pretty huge. It’s about 249,181KB after the save cleaner. It’s also connected with 5 different worlds. Actually the world Im talking about now is the latest one among the ones I added with traveler and it has been myhomeworld for quite a long time.
Today I tried to add my new sunset valley save to this old mega world save folder so I copied the nhd file from sunset valley save folder. Then in game , I used “travel with no sim” method to go to sunset valley but then the game crashes during the loading screen without creating script file.... I played almost 2 sim week with this sunset valley save and thougt maybe it was because the world too big so I used save cleaner to reduce size of both of those nhd files and then tried again but it didn’t work either...
Now same thig happens when I was trying to go to another connected world by using “ travel with no sim” method.. i even tried the regular “travel with sim” method and samething happens..

Hello kkaizer
No worries.  I removed your duplicate posts.  The delete function is in the upper right corner of the actual post window.  If you put your mouse in that area you will see a pop up bar with options.  Delete is accessed via the X in that bar.

As for your problems with Traveler.  Save Cleaner, to the best of my knowledge does not clean up .nhd files, only Snap files.
Your .nhd file is very bloated and moving it into a new game that is connected to other worlds might be what is causing the crashing as the file is no longer "connected" to the other worlds associated.

I am not sure what else to suggest other than do you have and old game save you can revert back to?

Yea. I can look up. There might be some.. so I guess you can’t have that many worlds connecting to each other...?
Is it because of that one single world that got too big or because I have too many worlds(5worlds) being connected to each other? I thought I could make a realistic mega world eventually by connecting all these worlds... If it is becauss of that one single, is there anything I can do in the future to prevent a world being bloated like that?

I thought Save Cleaner actually does cleans Snap resources inside .nhd files (which are inside save folders).  At least that's how I clean .nhd files manually with S3PE.  I've always assumed Save Cleaner did the same thing.

@kkaizer: My most recent save folder (which I haven't played in months) is 886 MB.  It's got 9 world files (.nhd files) inside, the largest of which is slightly over 115 MB.  I don't have problems traveling in that file (yet).  It's not clear from your post whether your save folder is ~250 MB after cleaning or whether some of the individual .nhd files are that large.  I think igazor allows .nhd files to get much larger before cleaning them (300+ MB?), but I could be remembering wrong.  If your entire save folder is 250 MB then I don't think the size itself should be a problem.  However, an .nhd file that size, after cleaning, would be too large to for my system to handle.

All that said, sounds to me like you have a travel issue possibly caused by some corruption.  I agree with brappl's suggestion to try go back to an older save if you have one.  Alternately, you can also try setting the game's graphics options to the absolute minimum (which will require you to relaunch the game) and then try traveling.  That's worked for me in the past when I had similar travel issues.  If travel is successful then Save As, change the graphics options back to what you had before, and relaunch the game.  Worst case scenario is that you have to move the sims to a completely new save game.  You could also try an MC reset in the current world, I guess.  On rare occasion that's helped to temporarily reduce .nhd file size for me.

As far as too many worlds connected I've had as many as 9 or 10 connected as I rotate households as well as worlds.  I do not believe I've ever had a .nhd file that size though.

Trey offered up some good suggestions so make sure you look at those.  I'm sure igazor will weigh in here as he plays multiple connecting worlds.

In the meantime, perhaps some general game/system clean up will help.  Please see our TIPS-FOR-BETTER-GAME-PERFORMANCE.  Lots of suggestions in there to clean up a game as well as keeping it healthy.

@TreyNurz: Yes. That one single nhd file was actually about 500MB before save cleaner and reduced to 250MB. So it’s pretty big.... other nhd files in the same save folder are avout 50MB... i found the save folder that same nhd file is about only 50MB and it worked with that save folder.. i guess it was just too big to add more worlds to that...

Looks like you've been given some great advice here.

Just to add, my ongoing game has 16 Traveler mod connected worlds in it. These include the WA worlds, Uni, and Oasis. But there is no known limit to the number of worlds we can connect that way. I would hesitate to say that trying to do this with over 50 of them would be a good idea for other reasons but one instance of my save file currently weighs in at over 2.1 GB when all Save Cleaned and (for me) this is fine.

If your single nhd file is around 250 MB after Save Cleaning, then I would agree that's pretty large. Do you play or have you played this one with scrapbook memories on and uncontrolled by a mod by any chance and might your sims in town have the max 300 memories each by now? That can be a huge source of bloat that Save Cleaning won't fix. But yes, by all means never travel unless the game is freshly started up and temporarily turning all graphics settings down in Game Options, including switching off Advanced Rendering, before doing so to reduce stress on the game is a great idea. Also:
-- Do not be logged in at the Launcher or in-game levels
-- Switch off the in-game TS3 Store shopping experience
-- Same with the interactive hidden object startup game
--  And most/all of the things listed on the Tips for Better Performance page already linked to

Just a quick add here.  In general when you travel and return home are you using the "fix homeworld" feature in Debug Enabler?
Edit:  After using the "fix homeworld" I do a Save As and go completely out of the game and reload.
Also, when switching worlds make sure not to just go the world menu.  It is important to go completely out as changing worlds at the menu page can cause corruption.

The world that got bigger like that is Evansdale from Simsrealty. I have been playing this town quite a long time but I havent had towns got bigger like this before. I have played some worlds even longer than this but their nhd file were not like that big.
