A General Store and its register...
I added a market to a few of my sims towns and added a few different registers. The food ones work fine as do the books, but the general store register always pulls up an empty list when the sims go to purchase anything. Is there some other thing I need or is this just the way of things if you're not in a vacation spot?

General Store and it's register...
Not sure about this, but that register only ever sold WA world related junk and some of the inventory it carried was specific to the world being played. Were you really looking to be able to purchase tents, showers in a can, dried food, and stuff like that in a homeworld?

Sometimes, when life isn't enough thrills, you just need to go and buy a set for survival. It doesn't matter how and when it will be useful to you. You are fully prepared for the thrill and that's all that matters. But who knows, maybe JohnL83 has some dangerous places of his authorship in those towns. By the way, in the past I was very upset that Chinese fireworks can only be bought in China. But perhaps this is the charm of travels.

General Store (and maybe Relics) registers work only in WA worlds by default, otherwise they show up empty in the homeworld. The cameras, incense burners and I think maybe the scooter show up for sale from time to time in the consignment store. I was looking for a mod to get the shower in a can buyable at home and found this http://modthesims.info/d/429284/24-10-w ... -1-67.html that seems to add everything to the grocery store. Also this one http://www.modthesims.info/d/427297/ if you need the WA books and fruits, too.

I didn't know that, I thought a "General Store" would sell general items, but now I know. Thank you.enable_llamas post_id=66992 time=1560949686 user_id=15770 wrote: General Store (and maybe Relics) registers work only in WA worlds by default, otherwise they show up empty in the homeworld.
Igazor: As kids we used to camp out in the back yard every now and then, so why not my Sims too? They have a 60x60 lot, plenty of room for tents.
BTW: I corrected my grammar boo-boo in the title. Did any anyone even catch that? Sheesh! You'd never have known I was an English major in college.

Sorry, I shouldn't have used the word "junk." Maybe "inventory" would have been a better choice of words.
I had thought that basic camping equipment was available anywhere but perhaps it's one of the mods I have that opens those things up for purchase outside of consignment stores. It's the world-specific things like higher end cameras that I thought were not going to show up on the registers, so I didn't know what kind of shopping experience was being sought.
Can't speak for the rest of the world, but it's 1955 here. If you want proper English tea, travel to England and purchase some to bring home (if you are in the UK while reading this, then substitute something known to be available in the US like...I don't know, maybe Kraft Mac and Cheese). It's not like you can find these things on the shelves in neighborhood grocery stores or shop on the Internet and order imported goods to be drone-delivered to your front door with free overnight shipping.

I had a mod by Blue over at the Asylum that opened the WA things to be purchased in home world.
