Clothing categories issue, Dresser-related?

Post by RoonyaSR » June 3rd, 2019, 5:20 pm

Hi!

So recently I've been sorting through all my CAS-CC and recategorising/deleting etc. because I can't play while it's in such a state (I have way too much).

I noticed a weird bug and I can't figure out why it's happening: some clothing is showing up in categories that it shouldn't be in and isn't actually flagged for in the .package. At first I thought it must be a cache issue but it's still happening after clearing them. Maybe there's something I don't understand about Nraas Dresser that could be causing this? Here is a scripterror generated from an example offending CAS part:

Log CAS Parts

Body Type: UpperBody
Instance: 0x53E1524B28F2EDD7
Group: 0x00000000
Ages: YoungAdult, Adult
Genders: Female
Species: Human
Categories: Everyday,Career,Makeover,
Extended: ValidForRandom,
BotPart: False

<InvalidParts>
<Instance>0x53E1524B28F2EDD7</Instance>
<Group>0x00000000</Group>
<Age>Adult</Age>
<Gender>Female</Gender>
<Species>Human</Species>
<Categories>Swimwear</Categories>
<WorldTypes>Base</WorldTypes>
</InvalidParts>

In this case, I was browsing the Swimwear category when I logged it. As you can see, this item of clothing is not flagged as swimwear (nor should it be) so why was it showing up there at all? :S Also it's not just a few items that can be deleted/ignored, it's affecting a lot of stuff. I'm really confused. Any help is appreciated!

Clothing categories issue, Dresser-related?

So I removed Dresser from my packages folder, still the same issue. (Clearing cache files every time ofc. Not sure if it's relevant info, but I also use CCMagic to manage my s3packs and did a full rebuild each time.)
Started a brand new save with the test world, still the same issue.
Deleted my merged CAS CC package and made it again, still the same issue.
I've played TS3 since it released TEN YEARS ago and literally never encountered an issue like this, I'm just at a loss for what suddenly caused it. My MasterController settings are the default settings, I haven't touched any of the clothing filter overrides or anything in the CAS settings there.

I guess no one has a clue or there'd be some reply
Is it possible that some CC I downloaded could be causing this? But like... how
Mod conflict? With clothes? lol

Sure you don't have any overrides hiding somewhere?

Welp, I rid myself of this issue. It was oddly nothing to do with overrides. I took everything out of my Overrides folders to check ofc. I would have been surprised if the problem was actually in there since all the affected items were from completely different places (different creators, different merged package files, different install methods etc.) and there didn't seem to be any pattern to it at all.

Anyways after a reinstall of my base game (yeah, a bit extreme and I figured it probably wouldn't achieve much) and reinstalling my CC bit by bit to see if the problem was reintroduced (it wasn't), I became like 99.7% sure the problem was caused by some corruption of CCmagic, which was practically the only thing I hadn't fully removed before (I mean program and folder structure incl.) to test. I did also notice that it was being flaky a lot and crashing on me.

So bizarre. I'm still using it though. A freshly reinstalled CCmagic. The problem didn't come back sooo who really knows. ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read my thread and for your suggestion, Chain

Alright so I got the urge to start playing TS3 again and I got the same problem happening again! BUT this time I've narrowed down the cause and perhaps Chain could shed some light on why it happens..? (Turns out it was nothing to do with CCMagic or filter overrides or anything like that.)

I usually use MC's Integration module, which as I understand it replaces all CAS interactions with the MC CAS. After removing Integration from my mods folder, I compared the MC CAS with unmodded CAS and discovered that the offending filter-less clothing items only show up in the wrong categories when I access CAS through MC. If I use the clothing dresser the vanilla way, they show up only in the categories they're supposed to and not in every category (which is the whole problem).

Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening? I am using a brand new testing save with default MC settings and no blacklists or invalid parts mods that could be interfering with the clothing categories.

Not sure, but it also can help to delete the CAS package file in the thumbnail folder, there all CAS item pics are stored to get loaded in CAS (deleted or changed items won't get deleted here automatically). Then it will take a while that the game will recreate, you need to go into CAS with all sim ages and gender, going from category to category.

Maybe that happens when you did a reinstall, this folder was also fresh afterwards.

Edit: when you change, delete or add items in CCMagic you need to rebuild (clean caches and rebuild).

I'm not sure what's going on here if you're truly on default settings. Do you have a tuning file installed that changes MC default settings? Look at your CAS settings in MC. Do you have CAS \ Category Changes \ Show Hidden Parts enabled? What about any category in CAS \ Disable Clothing Filter? Is it just one item doing this or multiple?

Negative :( See for yourself:

I have no tuning file either. This is my packages folder:

It is happening to multiple (seemingly random) items of CC clothing. It doesn't appear to affect Base game / Store / Expac stuff, as far as I can tell.

Edit: In the file 'Roonya_CASPedits.package' I only recategorised base game and expac CAS items, no CC, in case you were wondering about that.

Some examples to illustrate the issue:

This screenshot is taken from MC Stylist, with the clothing that should not be there

And this is the same location taken from vanilla dresser:

This is its CASP tag in s3pe:

It affects so many different things, I don't understand it at all. All three of the outfits in this screenshot shouldn't be showing up in sleepwear (or formal, or the other categories they're not enabled for...)

etc.

Edit: please excuse the post spam, and the windowed-mode squished screenshots. Would really love any help with this :(
