Parties...

Post by JohnL83 » January 5th, 2019, 3:48 pm

Is there a way to keep SP from throwing parties on the same day that my active sims have a party? I'm thinking no, but figured it's worth an ask. I don't want to turn parties off for the town for good. I know I can probably just turn parties off when my sims plan on having one, but I was wondering does the game cancel all parties once that happens or will it just stop any new parties but keep the ones it's already got in the works? If so, how far in advance does SP set up things like parties? I don't have my sims throw many parties, but when they do it's generally for a wedding or funeral or a Bachelor/Bachelorette party. Though sometimes they have a pool party or a bonfire one.

On that note, I know SP works fast. Just today I had two NA sims age up (within a day or so of each other) and the next thing I see, is that they are engaged. So I moved them into a home together on a Friday morning. I'm fairly sure I have the cool-down between engagement and marriage to be plenty of time so I thought nothing of this. I planned for my two sims to marry that Saturday and low and behold the NA jerks were having a wedding party on the same day as my sims! Not sure why the cool-down time didn't stop this? Is that in sim hours or sim days? (can't remember off hand) I'm fairly certain what I have it equals at least a few sim days, so they shouldn't have married so quickly. I have other couples who've been engaged for several sim-days and they are not married yet.
