I love playing with pets, but the TS3 versions are sooo much noisier than their TS2 counterparts it's driving me up the wall. I can deal with the horses and the cats if I have to, but the dogs are doing me in, and I don't want to be w/o them, as a rl dog lover myself. Giving them the quiet trait and trying the reinforcement approach to get them to be less loud doesn't seem to do much. I'd also love to get rid of/lower the starting bugle when entering equestrian center competitions, but it's not as important as the barking dogs.
Any mod in the NRaas suite helpful in dealing with this? My own peeking around the settings for the ones I have yielded me nothing, and my Google Fu failed me too while searching for other mods related to this, unless you count some broken links.
The Gameplay FAQs and Tips page teases a Bartking Dogs link, but the page it leads to have nothing about that specifically. Still, it gave me hope there might be a possible solution at least. ;)

Not in game at the moment, but if you click on the RH, there's a setting in DE that stops RH noises. That may take care of the bugle issue. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question on the dogs and maybe a better answer for the bugle issue.

I wish I knew this too, I quit my sims having pets because they are so much more annoying in the game than IRL. I also got tired of them needing so much attention! They'd often even stop my sims from caring for their own kids! I have a cat (love dogs too) and sorry, but cats are generally very quiet and well behaved.
In game I'd get a baby or toddler screaming it's head off, starving and dirty, but the darn cat/dog would cancel the parent's action to go care for it so the sim could play laser or some other stupid thing! Really...hey sim!...your baby is more important than the dog/cat! LOL

I quit strays because they sit at the door and scream/bark etc, tear up my newspapers and I think every stray in the neighborhood came to die on my doorstep LOL.

Thank you littlelambsy. I found the setting in the game, but for some reason it doesn't work for me at all. I need to test in more worlds though, and with other rabbit holes as well.littlelambsy wrote: ↑December 7th, 2018, 1:27 pmclick on the RH, there's a setting in DE that stops RH noises.
As for strays, for me they visit a lot in the beginning of starting a world, and then after about 2 sim weeks or so, I typically never see them again. And I don't just mean the first ones my sims met, but any strays at all. They just disappear. The wild horses work like they should though, as does racoons and deers.

There’s are a bunch of tuning mods over at the Asylum for pets, you do have to be registered there and it is free, but there are ones like this one by TFM http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/to ... y-24-2012/ , it stops pet birth celebrations, and this one http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/to ... r-11-2012/ , stops them from destroying newspapers. That is just a couple, I don’t recall seeing any that lowers the barking of dogs, but I know Twoftmama has a few others, no auto watching the cats play, or sleeping on furniture, and waking up sims. Bluegenjutsu has a few, and I know in the old creator section Shimrod has a few, Chicken might have a few also. And all of them are updated to 1.63/1.67 unless they are in an obsolete section.
