Help please, I've had enough!

Post by JohnL83 » November 27th, 2018, 12:09 pm

Okay, so please someone tell me how to get rid of the $%*#@ Halloween consumes!  I've had it!
I did what I could in Retuner to lesson the amount of trick or treaters, which has sorta worked ( I know we can't stop it for good)  I wouldn't mind ONE day each sim year for Halloween, but I'm so sick of my kids and teens running around in the costumes I'm about to loose it! This time my two teens went to prom and both of the dates were in some stupid dinosaur and hockey mask costume in their photos and were still in them when they met to go on a date the next day. (yes they both had proper formal wear as I always CAS every sim in town to have normal to okay clothing) So please, I know there's some way to do it, but I don't remember and I'd like to get rid of nearly all the dumb costumes, except maybe the ones like the princess or cowboy ones that are not quite so stupid to see someone in on occasion.

I have a mod from somewhere which prevents all trick-or-treaters, so I guess I haven't seen this issue in forever.  On affected sims, can't you click on them>NRaas>MasterController>Basic>Outfit and choose something else more appropriate like Everyday, or Formal for prom day?  You can do this from any computer or city hall and force any part of the population you wish into whatever standard outfit category you want.  I do this on visits to university because past graduates never autonomously change out of their graduation robes.  For masks you might have to take them into Stylist I guess.

I don't know what outfit categoy the costumes you mention appear in.  If they are like the kid's costumes from the costume chest, then they are special outfits and you can't get rid of those.  To check, click on any affected sim>NRaas>MasterController>Basic>Outfit and look at the thumbnails and see what the category is.

I'm not sure what to do about prom pictures.  I don't usually keep those so I don't care what the sims look like in them.  But I vaguely recall getting sims in their outerwear because the prom occurred in winter and they entered the school building in their outerwear.  You could try clicking on the school lot ground  do the same thing as above (NRaas>MasterController>Sim>Basic>Outift>All (to choose all sims currently on the lot)>Formalwear) but I don't know when the game creates the prom pictures so I don't know how much time you have force those sims into formal wear.

Well, I just had prom in winter in my game and tried changing outfits once the sims were in the school, but didn't work.  Prom pics all came out in outerwear.  I'd suggest changing outfits before prom and hope they don't autonomously change into something else.

TreyNutz, yes I know about changing the outfits via MC Basic Outfit. I use this constantly to change kids out of dumb stuff, but you don't always catch every sim, espeically when they are meeting up for prom.  When I play another family but the previous family had the teens already going on dates they seem to still keep those dates and when I return they sometimes have a pic from the event in their inventory. And no they are not part of the costume chest the children use. These are the stupid outfits that show up only on Trick or Treat day. Like the Mermaid (which isn't so bad) or the princess outfits with the long gloves and choker. I don't mind those What I hate are the ski masks, the teen dinasour costume, the Hot Dog. stuff like that.  I do see some of these items in the "hats"  and "accessories" areas of CAS like the hockey mask and Hannibal Lector kind of masks. I can also see a few other outfits since I have them unlocked to show in CAS, but I'd like to remove the stupid ones I hate if possible.

Well, I guess I'm not sure what you are asking for.  If you want to blacklist those specific CAS parts you can do that.  I don't know if tutorials for that are on the new site.  They should be on the waybackmachine though.

So THAT is what the "blacklist" is for! I didn't understand that one.  Geez I feel stupid. So what do I do? Just click that and add whatever clothing I dont' want sims to appear in?

Okay, I tried it, but when I click blacklist I don't get an option to add anything, just to take stuff off or import. What am I missing?

Try this link, it will tell you all about blacklisting.  Also, you can use Easy CASP to disable clothing, but if your games are on Steam, that program won't work for you.

Thanks for the link, I will look into that. But based on the amount of work I will have to do it may be awhile, I'm still figuring out Retuner. :P

I use the Easy CASP Editor  http://http://www.simlogical.com/Conten ... oads/1589/ by Kuree.  Those outfits came with Seasons and you will be able to pull everything up by EP.  (note: This editor does not work with 1.69) unless something has changed.  In addition to disabling, make sure to read the directions and remember to tick the use for random option.

Also, another alternative is to use Master Controller to completely hide the CAS items in the Seasons EP.  I have several EP's hidden.  The down side of that is some CAS stuff you liked will also be hidden.  For me, it was all worth it.  There is plenty of awesome CC out there.

Did not see littlelambsy linked to the Editor information in the Simlogical archive.   Our FAQ for the Editor provides a little more detail.  Here is the link: Blacklisting-Easy-CASP-Editor

I'm afraid that EasyCASP Editor is currently off the table for those of us on Steam installs. I still miss it.  :|
