Bottomless Hamper

Hi again, where do I find the settings to make the hamper "bottomless?" I don't remember where it is and I can't find it in search. Thanks!

I'm assuming you mean the clothing hamper that came with Ambitions. If so, this is the setting I use in Retuner:-

City Hall/Any computer > NRaas > Retuner > Settings > General > By Tunable XML >
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous > Hamper > kCapacity > 2000 (Default:10)

Setting it to 2000 makes it pretty much bottomless. :-)

Another option for those who do not have Ambitions Simlogical has Super Hampers available here:

I've been using Nonamena's Super Hampers for years, the ones that brappl mentions. One Super per lot is sufficient while the others can/should be regular and any style wanted for placement in rooms were sims tend to change clothes. There is no other way (for me) to manage laundry, it just works so well.  :)

Just wanted to clarify in case it's necessary, that it's the 'Bigger Hampers' XML tuning mod (at the bottom of the page that brappl linked to above) that increases the hampers capacity (making it bottomless), rather than the 'Super Hampers' scripted object mod at the top of the page. :-)

Thanks Sarah_Sims! It was the "miscellaneous" that I was missing.

I just got this super hamper downloaded and I wanted to clarify something; So from your post here it's okay for me to have the regular hampers in their bedrooms or the main bathrooms even with the superhamper on the lot?  I'm just going for realism here and I kinda like my sims, on laundry day, going from basket to basket. But just not when there's 15 of them on the lot. LOL
I used to have a stupid hamper in every room of a house including hallways and garages because fo those silly clothes piles and when you have a mansion, that is a lot.

JohnL83 - I have a lot that sleeps 50 (never mind why, it's no one's business who stays there or why ) so yes, I know exactly what you mean. No matter who does the housekeeping or how, just collecting the laundry at one point became totally insane.

If you have one Super Hamper on the lot, then clothes that end up thrown on the floor because there are no receptacles to hold them in that particular room will get scooped up automatically within a sim hour or so until the Super Hamper itself reaches its capacity. Rooms where sims change their clothes that have regular hampers will have the clothes flow into those hampers like normal until they each reach their own capacity, then they end up on the floor awaiting Super Hamper action or sims to attempt collecting them. So, you might want to try to deploy a combination where there is one Super Hamper and some regular ones, but not necessarily in all of the rooms on the entire lot.

Thanks. That is what I did and I figured, just needed the clarification. I did notice however, that the superhamper also collects the laundry from the sims as the collect from the regular hampers. LOL Several times now I've had a sim do laundry and before the finish hitting all the bedrooms they are still wandering from room to room with their hand out, but nothings there. A bit strange.

BTW: I actually came back here to post the question again because when I was here this morning it said twice that my post didn't go, I even checked and it was not there. So I left and came back and there it was with a response none-the-less. LOL.  This poor, message board is as glitchy and quirky as original Sims3 game. Seems kinda fitting LOL.  I'm still so glad it's all here though, so just know I'm not bitching, just observing and a bit bemused.

The site actually went down on me a couple of times this morning with the usual Cloudflare error. This should all improve once we get ourselves moved to our new web host, a process already underway.  :)
