Safe to make sim younger in CAS?

Post by Cororon » February 23rd, 2016, 2:16 pm

There's a sim in my game that became an elder too soon... I want to use testingcheatsenabled and take her into CAS and make her young again. But it it safe?

I once tried that with a pre-made sim, Lucky Perkins, and the game crashed when I got back to play mode. I'm not 100% sure if the changes made the game crash, though. Maybe it's only unsafe to make pre-made sims young, but that it works fine with other sims?

I don't know whether it's actually considered "safe" or not, but I can tell you that I've done this many times with no ill effects. Of course, always keep in mind Murphy's Law, and back up your save just in case :)

Oh, one more thing I should add. Often when you change ages in CAS, when the two ages have a different body size, the Sim will look wonky at first. A reset of the Sim will fix this. Good luck :)

I can not say for certain that using CAS to go back to a different age could cause problems. Always been afraid to use that. What you can do is use Tagger tag information to be able to see the number of days until the birthday and then use MC>Intermediate>Age Absolute to change the days in that age setting to allow for more time before aging up. Or if it is a sim in your active household the days till birthday can be seen in simology.

brappl, yeah I use Master Controller for that. But this sim is an Elder, and I want her to be an Adult again.

Just in case this doesn't work out well, there is always the Young Again LTR for a mere 70,000 LT Happiness points, plus the cost of a birthday cake since the LTR will make them a YA rather than an Adult. :)

Well, I've been eyeing that one for my own use IRL. The problem is, I'm not sure I want to be a YA again. :)

Buzzlers Aging Manager can do the same thing without the 70000 LT happiness points just make sure to read the mod description page on how to do it http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=447628
