Can't fulfill "Flirt With Someone Else"

Post by TreyNutz » March 21st, 2014, 11:54 pm

I have a sim in a mid-life crisis who has a want to Flirt With Someone Else, not his husband. I've tried twice and the flirts were accepted but the want isn't fulfilled. I found a thread on MTS which claims this is due to Woohooer. So I saved, pulled Woohooer, reloaded and the next flirt fulfilled the promised want (and saved under a different name).

I don't see this reported on this site, so I'm mentioning it now. Is this a known bug, is there a setting in Woohooer responsible?

My sim, and his husband, are both at level 10 of Kama Simtra and I don't want to pull Woohooer and loose that. I think I'm going to try an older save before I promised that want and just leave it unpromised. I just thought it would be an easy one to fulfill.

I found this searching the forums for just this problem.

For some reason, removing Woohooer caused my game to crash when loading this game save. I haven't had a chance to try yet after resetting the household. I assume that will fix it. I was looking through the FAQs for the correct procedure for removing a mod, but there are so MANY FAQs (all of them useful!) that it can be hard to find the right one.

At any rate, I am having this problem, and I found the same forum post Trey did, or one like it.

Did you also remove all of its modules and clear your scriptCache.package file? Those should be the only steps needed to remove a mod like Woohooer.

I thought I did just that, but I'm testing too many things at the same time. I'll go back too it.

Oh, there you go. I had the hot air balloon module in and didn't realize it. I haven't done anything with the balloon in ages.

Yep, loaded just fine. And the wish was fulfilled by doing the exact same flirt interaction I just did with the same sim right before I saved. Woohooer does seem to be the culprit.

Not sure how this never got noted before. Will see if anything jumps out at me.

Some limited testing with this suggests that if you switch on the "link to Story Progression" option in Woohooer it will allow the wish to complete successfully, whereas it does not complete if this setting is off.

I'd imagine that would be because, depending on your SP caste settings, the link shuts off most woohooer functions.

Makes sense. Anyway, as an interim fix I'd suggest temporarily turning 'Link to StoryProgression' on for long enough to complete the wish and then disabling it again (if that's how you usually have WooHooer set up)
