Service/Role sims

Post by littlelambsy » July 8th, 2017, 9:12 pm

Now that I'm all sorted out, I'm checking out all the businesses/community lots in my new world and making sure everything is where it should be. I'm also making over some of the Role sims to look more normal. While doing this, I discovered my Stylist sim,(Role sim) who should be tending the salon, is singing Karaoke in the Arcade. Why is he there and not at the salon? How do I make him be where he's suppose to be?

Not all Stylist's are Role Sims. Residents can be in the Stylist Career

I've just set this world up and haven't added any residents yet, except my two active sims. My settings prevent a bunch of sims moving into homes, I've got it set pretty high. I usually like to add my own residents or do a rapid immigration when ready. When I mouse over him, it says he's a stylist. When I tried to give him top level styling I found out he's listed as Retired. I just want him to be in the salon, not the arcade.

Well in that case if the lot not being actively visited Stylist sims are one of the few that the game lets roam around same with the Tattoo Artist. I've seen that many times when the Salon had no vistor's for along time

I just thought of it something could also be blocking their station if they can't get to it they will roam around instead

I just checked and the station if fully accessible. I tested it by sending one of my sims to the salon and clicked on the station. The only option I got was to Makeover Self, not get makeover from... So my stylist is not on the job. Just noticed, its Sunday 5:30 pm. Would that make a difference?

Yes it usually takes a day for everything to settle in. Also even though it's accessible for actives doesn't mean it is for a Role sim they usually have to stand at a certain spot is this a pre-made EA venue or third party

This is my own salon that I built. I'll wait a day and see what happens on the Monday.

Stylist role sims don't have a job level, they're always registered as retired (due to SP mod or something). Check his household status with MasterController whether he is truly homeless.

Thanks Johannshah, I just checked and he is listed as homeless. I just found another sim who is listed as Resort Maintenance: Low. I don't know what he does because I don't have a resort in this town. Role sims always confuse me LOL
