EP3 Bartender

Post by johannshah » May 9th, 2017, 1:54 pm

Hello.
If I assign a mixologist to a venue which doesn't have business hours, let's say hangout or gym. What time do they start and end their shift?

Also, is there any way to get rid of their looping animations? I'm kinda sad to see they keep cleaning the glass, checking the bar stocks, cleaning the professional juice bar over and over again. Wish they were more flexible like EP06 Proprietors, goofing around yet still maintain their posts.

At least yours stay at the bar. My bartenders are out on the dance floor and no one can get a drink or food!

They need to be in career outfits otherwise their motives won't get locked. I am using Shimrod's no career and martial arts outfits mod and so far the bartenders remain in their posts. they do sometimes leave (because stupid inactives decide to cancel their orders and go play darts or something) but they're immediately pulled back.

In answer to the original question, I have some Role Sims stationed at professional bars on some venues that are open 24 hours. Their "shifts," if you can call them that, seem to be something like 12 noon to 4am. But cash register attendants and coffee baristas on such lots seem to need to be on duty 24/7. I don't like either schedule for them, but haven't come with a way to make their lives more realistic. What I tend to do if these are sims I care about and want to progress in their lives somewhat is make them town residents, if they aren't already, and use Register to rotate them in and out of these assignments.

And as soon as I rotate them out, SP says "Ha! Fresh blood!" and hooks them up with someone or each other. I have to remember to disallow romance at the Sim Options level if that's not really what I had in mind for them at the time. :)

The animations I never try to interfere with. It may look silly but I'd rather have them do those than keep wandering away from their stations too many times even if they do get pulled back soon enough.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry I've just seen this thread again just now. I've assigned a mixologist at one of the hangouts, but it seems that they work almost 24 hours, their motive wasn't locked since they didn't have enough time to hibernate. For EP01, EP09 and EP11 roles, I've already adjusted their shifts so they've got 6 hours to rest.

I've got a bad headache now from worse night sleeps so I'm going to check the game later where the problem lies.
