Did you know you can disable the phone by deleting it?
While cleaning my Stone Age World from books and other New Age Nonesense i noticed Phone Objects in object stats in MasterController. I deleted them and now clicking on the UI phone does nothing.. the Sims have no phone. Thought it might be useful for people playing in times without Smartphones.

I can imagine you don't want them ordering up pizzas and DJs for their next party. But wouldn't that then also preclude them from doing certain things that are only available by phone (assuming they don't have computer either, of course) such as travel or moving houses? Or maybe you have a land line phone hidden away for special purposes like that...
Not certain, will need input from others, but I'm pretty sure a sim without a smartphone is prone to breakage in other ways because the game itself expects all sims to have one.

Would also like to hear more on this. I always understood it that the game will eventually generate a new phone. Also, removing the phone will cause the sim to simulate talking on the phone when the game spawns someone calling the sim.
Moving could be accomplished in Edit Town by evicting the household and placing the household on another lot.
Agree with igazor though, I'd be afraid of eventually breaking the game.
Please keep us posted KittyTheSnowCat on how this is working for you.

There is an experimental mod called "No Cellphone" by Arsil (who else?) in the Creator Feedback Forum of MTS here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=562581
I didn't notice any problems while using it but only tried it for a very short time period.
Would have to say I'm with igazor on this one, in believing that deleting the phones outright may cause problems in the long term.

One of my own long-term goals back in 2012 when I still was interested in bothering to script for TS3 was a cell-phone deleter, to try to bring cell phone behaviour closer to Sims 2, but I buried those notes deep in a file inside a locked vault when I decided that building and compiling was too much work for someone else's game. Thanks for the find, @Sarah_Sims!
Hi chili46.. there are some settings in Retuner that might help. See <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Cell+Phones ... ones">Tips At The Bottom Of This Page</a>.
Also, you might want to consider the link to the No Cellphone mod by Arsil Sara_Sims poster further up in this thread.
