Mainly Go Here ScriptErrors

Post by Sarah_Sims » October 20th, 2016, 12:46 pm

There's a Selector and a Master Controller ScriptError in the zip file together with several from Go Here. I think these are all to do with the fact that I reverted from using Go Here's testing V44f back to testing V44e but left testing V134 of Master Controller in. Am uploading them anyway just in case there's something of value in them. :-)

Hi there, Sarah. I'm going to have to agree with Chain here, you guys need to stop breaking stuff. :)

Okay, the GoHere errors are all concerning the day care option. I get those a lot myself, regardless of the version of GoHere, and at least for now have stopped using the GoHere > Caregivers > Use Day Care Instead of Babysitters option. I haven't even tried it on 44e or 44f yet, but on prior versions I found it always was a bit fussy. Not sure if that's the exact option you have set -- this is the one where kiddies are supposed to be teleported to Day Care and back home again as needed while a designated inactive is in the Daycare profession.

The Selector error is from a wall-mounted speaker that Michael Bachelor is considering dancing to and it seems to be glitching out. Perhaps it needs to be replaced?

Oh, reading the Selector error more closely it's about a greyed out tooltip on the wall speaker. I wonder if that is indeed GoHere 44f (now demoted to 44e) related. May I ask why you reverted GoHere versions?

Hi igazor and thank you! :-)

The "Use Daycare instead of Babysitters" option is true by default so I left it that way but I did change "Hire Babysitters for Inactives" to true ages ago. Is that what's causing the problem? I've noticed for a while now that all the babysitters on inactives lots seem to be there permanently. I'm going to turn this option back to False and see what happens.

The speaker was on a community lot and I shift+clicked it (or ctrl+clicked it, maybe both), thinking that would allow me to change the music being played but all that happened was the scripterror popped up lol! Will replace that speaker and see what happens.

As for why I reverted, I'd read a couple of posts where people were having problems with Go Here testing V44f but I forgot about reverting Master Controller as well. Silly me! Am going back to using GoHere V44f and MC V134 as I have no intention of travelling atm so I should be okay, right? :-)

Right, it's just the travel transitions (for the moment) that are causing those 44f errors, and one case where the player had an older version of Tagger that was causing things to act up.

I think we're supposed to be in Build/Buy Mode to change the station on those community lot speakers with the shift-and-or-ctrl-click (I never remember which it is either).

Ah okay, thanks.
Build/Buy Mode! Of course! That's what I should have done! Then I think it's Ctrl+Shift+Click? Will try it in a minute and see. :-)

Well, this is weird. There were two speakers at this community lot so I replaced both of them (Satellite Speaker by NuSound that came with Showtime). TestingCheatsEnabled is already set to true via Overwatch. Went into Buy Mode and Crtl+Shift+Clicked on one of them (which is the correct way to do this according to MTS) but the only options I have are:-
- Delete It
- Reset
- Clone
- Thumbnail Camera...

There are two further options in Thumbnail Camera:-
- Generate Position From Scale (View)
- Center View

No option to change the music being played and I've no idea where that "Thumbnail Camera" option is coming from.

Any ideas?

As it so happens, I had just started up my game so I had to check on this.

What in the world? On a base game (I think) Public Sounds Stereo, with ctrl-shift click in Buy Mode, I get the thumbnail camera menu also and some menus about Triggers. After clicking through a few of the Tigger things randomly, I have no idea what I did one of them was something about breaking links to this object, "Change To..." showed up on the speaker's ctrl-shift menu and that allowed to me to change the station.

Weird.

Lol! I'm now wondering what mod you have that's giving you Triggers, that I don't have. Another mystery - oh damn! For now, I've just put a normal stereo there instead. :-)

Ah yes, 44e has code in it related to babysitters that is very rough and hasn't been tested. I forgot to remove it prior to release. I thought I might have did that but wasn't sure. My recommendation was to use it only for when traveling. Nothing damaging going on but no doubt anything related to babysitting and inactive youngsters is probably exploding around you. 44g is incoming so bear with me.

The speaker error is odd. Not sure what's going on there. Along with the missing change to interaction, do you have any tuning mods related to the stereo that might be outdated?
