Which Way Should The Door Arrows Go?

Post by Sarah_Sims » October 5th, 2016, 2:41 pm

Thanks so much for the update Chain! :D

Just need to clarify one thing though...

Quote: "It is vital that all your doors face the correct direction now or this will continue, which is arrows pointing into a room."

I thought the door arrow was supposed to point OUT of the room you want the sim to be locked out of, as per this statement by J4Ks:-
"Sim walks to a house/room (4 walls, so enclosed), the front door is showing, the arrow needs to point outside (towards the Sim who's walking to the house)."
in this thread: Door arrow direction - which way?

This sounds like "chain changed his mind which way the doors should go" type thingy (I'll have to confirm). I forgot about the cost feature. I guess it makes a lot more sense for them to open inward so perhaps I should alter the cost code. Thoughts?

There are a few distinct doors in the game, both EA and CC, that are designed specifically to be front doors, with a knocker on one side only. The majority of these doors have to be placed with the arrow pointing inward for them to look correct so I vote for changing the code to inward if you wouldn't mind. I say the majority of the doors because as you've probably guessed, EA didn't make them all the same but there are only a couple of single doors that differ so not a big problem. :-)

Okay inward it is. All features should correctly honor that direction starting with version f.
