DoorFilter:WarningTrappedSims

Post by Sarah_Sims » April 11th, 2015, 12:15 pm

Hi Chain,

I keep getting the message "DoorFilter:WarningTrappedSims" but have no way of knowing which sims are trapped or where. Is it possible to add their portrait to the notification so clicking it could focus the camera onto the sim who's trapped?

Have also noticed, sims seem to hang about around any doors/gates that are locked to them, essentially blocking the way for any sim that can use the door. They still seem to want to use the objects in rooms they have been locked out of even though I see you've tried to prevent this.

Thanks!

Hey Sarah,

I've been noticing this kind of behavior as well. The WarningTrappedSims is annoying not knowing which one they are, even if they are standing outside the building.

The other might be a result of Zerbu trying to push a Sim to get onto an object, although Gohere says there is nothing to use zerbu's seems to override it. If of course its open workplace related.

Do you have zerbu's mod? Or are there woohooable locations behind these locks? Maybe spawners inside the gates? Any mod that forces an interaction is going to cause them to keep trying to route because the game thinks you told them to. I don't think there's much I can do about those, especially non-nraas.

As for the message it's a bit particular where it's originating. I only have it set to trigger when you lock a door. It's obviously somewhere though.

Unfortunately I was doing some work on these and my desktop shut off and wouldn't turn back on. It appears the memory violently failed. Will resume when I can. :)

@J4Ks: Yes I do have the locked doors set up on two different workplaces - the bank and the hospital.

I was focusing on the hospital and had the back door locked (using the MC filter) to only allow medical career sims through. Now, all the sims hanging around the back door are not employed in the medical career though so they shouldn't be getting any pushes from Zerbu's mod to use the career objects. They didn't have route fail bubbles above their heads but were just standing there doing nothing, about five of them. It's like they're attracted to the door itself even though they can't do anything with it lol!

As soon as I changed the lock on the back door to allow specific sims only (instead of using the MC filter) and manually picked the sims in the medical career, all the sims hanging about started to disperse.

@Chain: Yes I am using Zerbu's mod as mentioned above. No woohoo locations behind the locks or spawners. Can't think of any mod that could be pushing these sims to try to route through the locked door. Only things behind it are a sofa, sink, toilet and computer which I thought they wouldn't be able to 'see'.

Hope your desktop recovers! Poor thing is probably over-worked lol! :-)

Perhaps setting the Front of the Lot can give some outcome on those Simmies who think the back is the front and trying to enter the facilities through the backdoor.

Try this: either with "TestingcheatsEnabled True"> Click on ground of the lot> Build On this Lot or Click on Wall> NRaas> DebugEnabler> Options...> Build On this Lot>

Set your view to the front of the Lot, click near the main entrance on the ground, then select something like Set Front of Lot. See if that works.

The next problem you might experience, if you have blocked the mainentrance to be used by employees, that it's personal can't route to the backdoor. If you done so, you'll need to rethink where the personal may enter, perhaps make a side entrance (near the main entrance) for them.

Do these Sims immediately route to this door when arriving on the lot? When you see one of them bolting for it do a DE who am I on them and tell me what the current interaction says.

@Chain: If you mean the back door, I'm not sure. Sorry, wasn't watching them closely enough. I thought the problem had rectified itself after I placed some more interesting objects in the hospital, as no sim tried to route through the back door today but they're still trying to get to the Mini Fridge. Picture below shows Cornelia Goth trying to go through the side door on her right which is filtered to Medical Career Staff only. She's got the route fail bubble. What's interesting is, those grey double doors are also filtered the same but she's still trying to get to that Mini Fridge in the staff room at the back of the building. The double brown doors at the back of the building are still filtered too.

Is this enough info?

Perfect, thanks. Now would she have been under the influence of zerbus mod? Does it push them to tend to their motives? And had that door been locked before she entered the lot or did you just lock it?
