STC fail ok

Post by miasimming » October 9th, 2018, 9:29 am

I’m trying to have my teen sims have romantic relationships with young adults, and if you click on the romance tab some of the options show up but say Ii wanted to click on “Propose going steady” it would be greyed out and say STC fail ok or StoryProgression caste romance fail. It’s  affecting my older sims relationships as well.  I really hope you can help me solve this problem.

STC fail ok

Those are two different kind of failures.

STC Fail means Short Term Context. That means the action requires the two sims in that scene, at that time, to be further up the sequence on Sim A thinks Sim B is okay, flirty, alluring, irresistible (or going in the other direction, being awkward, disgusting, horrible, whatever those are we usually don't want them). For Propose Going Steady, I'm pretty sure you have to complete a long string of other successful romance interactions with no interruptions, no social/funny ones inserted, no one answering the phone or running off to do something else, all the way to the top and land on irresistible before it should show up. And there's still no guarantee the target sim will accept, of course.

SP Fail usually means that you do not have explicit caste support on StoryProgression for one age group to be romantic with the other. In order for the two mods to work correctly with each other, each age caste (Teens, YAs, Adults, Elders) in Caste Options must specify exactly which other age group castes can be romantic targets. The other way to approach this is to break the link between the two mods and this should stop happening.

STC fail ok

Hi. I have te same problem since today, but i don't know why.
I didn't even have story progression mod, but now i downloaded it and tried many options, but it is not working.
I changed NRaas > Woohooer > General > Link to StoryProgression > to false, but it didn't help.  The "going steady" and "propose marriage" are greyed out and when i try to press it, it says STC fail, sometimes flirty stc or romantic stc. Everything was all right, but only today i started to have problems.

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas.

I think you are solving the wrong problem there. STC Fail doesn't mean SP or the game's own built-in restrictions are blocking things, although that may have part of the problem originally. It means your couple have not moved up the short term at the time scene-specific chain from Sim A thinks Sim B is Okay, Flirty, Alluring, Irresistible. You have to get that uninterrupted chain of romantic-only interactions all the way up the chain to get to Ask To Go Steady. Note that you cannot propose marriage if sims are not first Romantic Interests, then Steadies, as that would be going out of order.

How easy, difficult, or impossible it is to get up that short-term chain to Irresistible and then keep going with those romantic-only interactions to eventually unlock a partnership shift upwards, and whether the one before it (Alluring) will suffice, depends on how well the two sims know, like, and are attracted to each other as well as some other settings that Woohooer can provide. Throughout the uninterrupted chain, neither sim can do some other action and their needs have to be and stay met (fun, social, bladder, hunger, energy, hygeine, and NO teen mood swings). Teens can be especially tricky as many of them tend to lack charisma skills and may not yet have some of the social and romantic friendly LTRs that older sims may have accumulated.
