Help with StoryProgression

Post by jamesphillip » December 8th, 2013, 5:51 am

I need some help with Story Progression.

1 - I tried to read all the instructions, but its just too much. There are some families that I don't want the game to change AT ALL, only I want to change them, so what settings to I have to turn on/off so that storyprogression doesnt affect those families?

2 - Whenever I enable Storyprogression, all of the sims faces appear on town view mode. How can I disable it?

3 - I tried careers mod to enable school uniforms for public schools, but my sim will still go with everyday outfit to public school, what did I do wrong?

lol I keep forgetting I don't need to c/p the word anchor. Anyway for #1, I *believe* you'll click on the sim or household in question, click nraas/story progression/sim options or household options/stasis, and change that to true. For #3 I really don't know.

It's definitely a lot of instructions but considering the huge amount of stuff this mod can change in your game, it's pretty necessary. I'd definitely recommend reading through the entire FAQ at the very least.

You can turn off map tags that display in map view by clicking Town Hall. Then NRAAS > Story Progression... > General Options > Options:Sims and then set Show Map Tags to None.

If you don't want a household/lot to be progressed by SP then click anywhere on the lot. NRAAS > Story Progression... > Lot Options and Allow Lot for Progression to False.

I don't normally turn off progression entirely for a lot, but I when I switch households I may not want the sims in the household to move, change jobs, or have more children.

So I will click on the house, select NRAAS > Story Progression... > Household Options then set
Household: Allow Move: As Family = false
Household: Allow Move: Solo = false
Career: Allow Find Job = false
Pregnancy: Allow Can be Pregnant = false

For the last two, those options can be set for the individual sim by clicking the Sim and then select NRAAS > Story Progression... > Sim Options

Thanks for the replies. I know it is a lot of features, but I just wanted to get playing fast, I might need to read it more attentively, but many thanks for the quick tips.

Any help with the school uniforms? I did change the setting so they would wear formal attire to school (public school), but whenever they go to school they go with regular clothes instead. I have the Careers module for story progression.

How are your sims getting to school ? If they are taking the school bus, most likely they will only change to their uniforms just prior to entering the school itself.

You may want to try giving them individual bicycles, and see if that works better.

what I've noticed is that they change to formal if they go to school autonomously, but not always, if I cancel that and send them there myself, they will go with regular clothing.
