I finally decided to download Retuner to my game. --sigh--- OMG what is this? So I have been reading the Retuner thread here hoping to get some ideas on how to use this mod and I'm more lost than ever. For instance, there is a thread there about wedding cake and the poster asks how to make more slices, then they say they solved it, but no one bothers to say how, but hey!...there's a link...I follow the link there, but of course it is no longer good. I ran into this several times in several posts. So...
Is there a link to something somewhere that can help me figure the basics out of this mod? I really just want to deal with a few annoying things. First order of business is stopping random heckling or booing if possible and then definitely I want to lower the amount ot trick or treating to never or almost never. I know Igazor managed to get it to happen less often, so I know it can't really be stopped.
I promise will ask any future questions in the Retuner thread for any further Retuner things, but if I could just get a link to some basic info I can read and try to figure it out myself that would be great! I downloaded the interactions of all the mods before the other site was closed, but the interactions for retuner don't really tell you how or what everything does.
Help please...

Retuner is a different beast from the other mods. The Interactions page only covers the mechanics of the mod itself. But what it does is offer an interface to the game's ITUN file and the ability to adjust around 200 million or so (slight exaggeration perhaps) tunable settings there. The ITUN's file is EA's baby, there is no documentation for those reachable settings so we have to guess what those we can find will do by their name (some are more obvious than others) and avoid those for which we have no idea.
And some will be reachable but not really have an impact. For example, you can allow toddlers to drive cars and tend a LN bar using Retuner, but that won't accomplish anything in the game; toddlers can't really do those things for other reasons.
I believe what you really want is the Members' shared favorite Retuner settings. That page doesn't seem to have made it over here yet (or I'm just not seeing it currently), but it's available through the Wayback Machine, linked to Retuner's FAQ page. Let us know if you have trouble finding it that way.

I can't click anything on that page except Discussions and Release notes, when I put my mouse on FAQ nothing appears, there is no link and my mouse wont change. There is also nothing on the other pages that I can click. I tried refreshing my screen and everything. The main page of this site still seems to have some issues for me. I am running Win 8.1 and use Google Chrome. IDK if it's Chrome or what, but like on the main page here some of the blue links are overlapping other stuff. I just chose to ignore it, but whatever the issue is it may also be why not all links are working for me? IDK... I've never had an issue like this before so IDK what to check or change in my browser if that is what I need to do.

Err..sorry but what? The Wayback Machine is not the current version of this site. I'm talking about the archived copies of the Wikispaces site that have been automatically made over the years. I can't usually link to one directly as the text editor mangles the hyperlink, but let's give this a try...
Does this link work?
Or maybe this way?
https://web.archive.org/web/20171228141 ... r+Settings
This is a documentation page that I believe, as I tried to say, does not yet exist on the current site or it is still hiding on us. Not all of them are available for use here yet. It has nothing to do with your browser.

Okay, I don't want to disturb the formatting of the above post so I'm making a second one instead of editing. Both links I put in seem to work.
Help please...
That worked, thank you so much! Guess I misunderstood. Not unusual though for me. LOL

@john83: Have you read through Retuner's FAQ page yet? I think you may benefit from it as it explains exactly how the mod works and what it can be used for.

Sarah Sims I did try to view that link several times on the Retuner page here and it's not working for me, but for some reason it worked in your post. ??Sarah_Sims post_id=59418 time=1541263633 user_id=49 wrote: @john83: Have you read through Retuner's FAQ page yet? Quick question, are any of the Reutuner default setting set differently from EA standard? In other words are there some things I may notice that are different now that I've downloaded it.

Merely having Retuner in play does not affect any of the game's tuning settings whatsoever. There is no impact. Retuner is a gateway to the existing ITUN file so that its settings, or at least those that are reachable that way as not all of them will be, can be examined and potentially changed in a user interface (with menus), that is all.

No, Retuner's default settings are exactly the same as EA. Nothing will change in Retuner unless you change it. I find it helps to keep a record of all changes made, together with their default values, so it's easier to change them back if you don't like the results.
