Register and Age Requirements

Role Sims, homeless, service Sims, oh my. Something tells me we're not in Sunset Valley anymore.

Register and Age Requirements

Post by igazor » June 8th, 2015, 4:14 pm

While following along another thread, a question occurred to me that I've been meaning to ask and decided not to hijack that one.

Assuming it's even possible, what horrible things are likely to happen if teens were allowed to assume Role Sim positions? I actually thought this could be done already, but apparently something is blocking them -- perhaps the underlying assumption is that they must be attending high school from 9am-2pm rather than one of the other options?

For Role assignments, I would say Register will try to push the assigned Sim to man the objects, even when they attend school, which causes the Role manager to act up, creating new Sims while the objects is active, making the game sluggish during the whole time.

Only one teen wouldn't make a difference I suppose, but having similar objects or all where you did activate it for Teens, that could probably be problematic.

Ah, okay. What I had in mind was assigning a couple of resident or homeless teens to a couple of particular stations myself and, at least in the case of the residents, making them home schooled. The objects I had in mind would not be staffed during school hours anyway. Examples would be a teen mixologist or musician in a venue that's open a few hours a night.

I wasn't planning to let Register have a field day with teen assignments on its own. But maybe one is not possible without the other.

Outfit issues come to mind for some of the roles.

Oh, hadn't thought of that. But guess this is confirmation enough that currently teens just cannot be assigned this way for good reasons and I'm not just imagining it. Ah well, guess my next idea for toddler cash register attendants, club bouncers, and tattoo artists isn't going to go over very well either.

Ahh, yes that never came to my mind, although I did alter the outfit of the bartender on Poolside clubs in the NPCRoles _XML.

I wonder though what will happen if you remove all outfits from that list, would it then be possible to change those Role outfits manually.
