Role motives

Role Sims, homeless, service Sims, oh my. Something tells me we're not in Sunset Valley anymore.

Role motives

Post by sittingbear » March 26th, 2018, 2:29 am

I've been noticing that the Fun motive on my Role Sims doesn't seem to be getting maintained and I had another one complain about being hungry.

I figured it out first I tired Resetting the lot but that made things worse none of their motives where getting maintained after I did that. Then I tired unassigning and reassigning the sim that fixed all but the fun motive. Then I unassigned the sim used DebugEnabler to reset the register and reassigned the sim that fixed it.
Although I curious as to why it happened.

You've probably already seen this since you deployed the DE fix, but this issue is mentioned in the first Register FAQ on this page:

Actually I didn't see that I took a calculated guess that maybe it would since I once used DE to fix a broken bed that couldn't be fixed by an MC Reset.

Does this behavior change without register installed?

Sorry for the delay Chain just seen it, but without Register when I Reset the Town or the Lot EA just sends new sim to tend the register.

Another bizarre issue as the code looks like it should work. Have you noticed if it's one role type or all of them?

It does look like it's all of them but if you give it about a day it seems to correct itself. With the exception of the Elixir Consignment Shop that is the troublesome one the motives for that sim bounce up and down and sooner or later they abandon their post and you'll never see them them again unless you reassign them but their Fun motive stays at 0 unless you use DebugEnabler to reset the Register before reassigning them.

I also learned at least for the Elixir Consignment Specialist anyway (didn't try the others) SP's static motives won't work on them as I tried to use it to bring their Fun motive up

^^^ I should mention the problems happen after I either Reset the Town or the Lot when they first get assigned all motives are static (at least the one that are supposed to be in the NPC Roles XML).

And before I forget are Service supposed to have static motives I noticed a few around town that did.
