Returner Register Settings
Returner Register Settings
I'm trying to get NPC Register Attendants to work only 12 hours instead of 24; I want them to go home at night and return to work the next morning. I have added a new General time and altered the % from 50 to 0 for chance to tend register, however, the NPC's still stand at the registers all night long. I changed all of the register settings for chance to stand at register etc but nothing. If I send the NPC's home with MC during the no-work time, they just run straight back to the registers. Am I doing this wrong? What am I missing? I also posted something similar to this in retuner FAQ - wasn't sure if that's ok here?

I saw but didn't respond on your original inquiry because I don't really see how Register would be able to honor the proposed Retuner changes and was hoping someone else who may have tried this will know. Let's see if this one gets any responses, I've locked the other one so as not to end up with two conversations on the same question.
I'm pretty sure the only way to arrange this though is to change the Venues XML with a tuning mod so that all instances of the relevant lot type have different opening and closing hours than they currently do. But I could well be missing something.

Hi Igazor, thanks, and sorry for my impatience! It always seems like I can't move on with my game until I have an issue I NEED resolved in my head or walked away from (in my head). Slight OCD on my part perhaps?
Yes I'm using Register too to have all the register settings. The lots are like, Visitors Allowed, open all hours type thing with the cash registers placed there.
I'm sure others must have tried this for playing towns where they want all service and role sims to be residents who don't live in invisible apartments!

Do they have to be 24/7 type lots? I mean, if you made them Java Huts for example, or set the lots' meta-autonomy to that of Java Hut using Tagger which would probably do about the same thing, it seems like the register attendants would have to go home at closing time along with everyone else. But maybe that's not quite the solution you were looking for.
And I know what you mean about the OCD thing, though I'm not sure it rises to quite that level of diagnosis but we probably all have it to some extent.

That is a thought I could try I guess, though I'm playing a Medieval game so that zoning might bug my brain. I like the idea of changing meta autonomy from say 'Visitors allowed' or 'Market' to have the same time as Java huts or Dive Bars etc and see what happens. I haven't messed with meta-autonomy settings so far though, is it easy enough?
Thanks for your help here

All I really meant doing was, on the lot or its tag, NRaas > Tagger > Set MetaAutonomy. Nothing all that fancy. It's really there to support custom lot tags so everyone's custom lots do not necessarily all end up behaving as hangouts, but thought it might help here. You don't actually have to have a barrista (for example) to make your lot behave like Java Hut. But don't tell the bigwigs at Simbucks Coffee Ltd about that.

Not sure if this will help but I found these. I downloaded them but haven't used them yet. I'm not sure I really understand them, but they seem to be suited for what you want. If you try them, let me know how they work. http://modthesims.info/d/543967
