Okay, so it looks like this: http://puu.sh/nE9NI/6dcaf2a550.png

I remember adding more lines with more */*/*/ and so on in and ascending order (one extra on each new line I create). But for some reason it didn't work.

That does look like the default configuration. And you should be able to add more lines to the second group to increase the nesting, but just one * or / out of place and the whole thing could break. Maybe someone else here has a working Resource.cfg that allows for deeper nesting that they could share with you.

But I will mention that the more and deeper nesting you use for package files, the harder the game has to work to read them for loading thus leading to longer startup times.

I've edited it again and loaded the game, only to find that my mods were nonexistent in my game's eyes. Went back to replace the original resource file to realize that my mods folder was missing. Totally deleted it. Oops. Luckily I didn't empty my trash.

Put it back in and started my game and the loading screen came up right away rather than allowing the intros to show, so maybe I did misplace either of those two characters the last time. I don't mind the game taking longer to load because I /have/ to have my files organized. Makes it faster to weed out a bad mod or package file in general. This is because back when we were deep in love with Sims 2 Pets (Unleashed? or was that the original Sims) I would just through everything into the main folder and there would be thousands upon thousands of files in there, which made it awful when something went wrong and I had to weed through them all. The loading time is a sacrifice I'm willing to make for a structured Mods folder. I plan to upgrade my ram and maybe the graphics card in the near future, which should help with loading times.

Thanks for the help, though! It's appreciated. If you hadn't mentioned the recourse file I probably wouldn't have tried to edit it again.

I wasn't suggesting one folder with a thousand package files in it all willy-nilly. I put up with that for far too long in my own game before I started organizing things. But I do manage to keep the nesting down to 5 levels somehow. It's not a perfect system, but for me it's close enough. Glad you got the extended Resource.cfg to work.

I wasn't assuming that you were suggesting that. I only said that as basically the reason I started the habit of nesting my files.
