Is this possible?

Post by LaBlue0314 » February 20th, 2016, 5:42 pm

What I am trying to do is to set it up for teens to be able to have Romantic relationships and interactions with young adults, but not just any young adults. I want to set it up to where for example you have a young couple who are both teen agers and they are involved in a romantic relationship. Eventually one of them becomes a young adult, while the other one has not aged up. Is there a way in this situation that I can set it up to where they can continue to be romantic with each other? As it is now if I set it up for teens and young adults to be romantic with each other, it doesn’t work out that way. It ends up being that a teen and a young adult will get romantically involved, but the young adult did not meet the teen while they were a teen themselves.

I have had romantic relationships continue after one of the couple had aged up to a young adult; they could go out on dates, do romantic interactions etc So it is possible. I know Woohooer, opens up the possibility of adult teen romantic relationships, but I don't know if that is the only mod you have to set up; can't remember at the moment. hopefully someone else with a better memory can help

I think the issue here is that LaBlue wants existing Teen-YA couples to continue progressing romantically but not allow new Teen-YA couples (where one is already older than the other before they started dating) to form. It's tricky, because we are fighting the game itself when we try to manage couples this way. Half the time I give up and age the younger of the couple up to YA when I notice this happening on inactives or just disallow romance of any kind on the two sims in question until they are in the same age group again. Actives, of course, are easier to manage.

I tried that myself but in the end just gave up and removed the age restrictions for all teens,YA's and adults but disallowed teen pregnancy

@LaBlue0314 .. I've had the same situation and it can be done with the settings. It seems to work just fine when playing the active family but as igazor mentioned for inactives it does not always work. I rotate families and most (not all though) of the time end up aging up the younger sim.

It could be done if you use the sim options between the sims to match them up and allowed them to continue to be romantic even when one is a YA and the other is still a teen.I will allow them to start a romance if one's a YA and the other is a teen only if they were childhood bff's and one was a lot older than the other. You can set it up in sim options so they'll only get romantic with the intended sim.
