Porter and Travel db

Post by 310175 » February 7th, 2016, 12:50 pm

I have a question about travel db. I portered part of my extended legacy family including its founder and dead wife (about 25 sims in total) to a new world and everything went fine and dandy but the new save has a travel db of about 350MB. Do I have to keep this monster or would it be save to delete? What happens if I do? Thanks!

So even when you start a new game and ported 25 Sims into the world, the TravelDB got bloated to an amount of 350 MB?

All I can think of that the TravelDB contains, pictures (memories / photo's) and connections to Sims from other worlds, who may come to visit you as mini Sims in your Homeworld. If you haven't traveled in this new save then only pictures / photo's remains. So I wonder do you play with in game options memories enabled?

Deleting the TravelDB can be done, the side effects are:
- loosing relationships with foreign sims
- loosing pictures (prom / photo boot / painting "still life")
note: if you wish to salvage that read this section: <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/How+to+use+ ... ve-game</a>

As for insurance, just make a copy of your last played Save (the folder) and store it somewhere outside the Sims 3 folder, then in your game Save, delete the TravelDB and start the game, it should regenerate a new one and see how it then feels.
If anything looks off or your missing too much, restore the save with that back up and come back for other tips.

Cheers.

Thanks! I seem to have a case of premature posting at NRAAS, so I'm sorry about wasting your time. I checked the "improve your game" section and deleted the IMG files in it and voila! 218K! I'm about to load the save now. I'll check back to report if it destroyed anything.

All is well! Save runs fine, saves well, and the travel db hasn't increased again.
