I've placed additional lots using the in-game World Edit, could that possibly affect something? And yeah, I think I will start a new save file with a world fix, maybe everything will be alright then...

That happened to me once. Trees moved into roads and even buildings. The only thing I had done just before that happened was downloading cars from Fresh Prince. I took them out and moved my sims to a new World. About a year later I tried another car from Fresh Prince and then the game crashed. Not sure why my game hates his cars.

Possibly but you couldn't have placed lots on that road so I'm not certain that is the cause.

Well, I did place some lots along the road where those trees were found but I don't think that could be the cause too, because I had found some more trees in roads where I did not place any additional lots.

I think all the trees in the world moved in my game. It's like the trees originally were placed on a layer on the world map, and the whole layer moved a bit.

For me it wasn't all the trees, but just those specific types of trees. Having all the trees shift though sounds chaotic haha
