Butler is moonlighting
Hey, so my sims came into a lot of money and hired a butler. They all get along well, he takes care of the kid while the adults are out at work or whatever, but every once in awhile, I get a popup saying the butler has to go soon, he has somewhere else he's supposed to be. Turns out the butler took a second job in the culinary career. What? How did that happen? How do I get him to go back to just being the butler?

I'm so disappointed. When I saw the subject line of this thread, my assumption was that the butler was being included on the roster for (coughs) professional service providers by way of Woohooer's KamaSimtra add-on. As butlers are Service Sims, they are fair game to provide that service under certain mod setting combinations. Many of us have even seen the Grim Reaper show up there, under a silly assumed name as if that was going to fool anyone.
He certainly shouldn't need the money. Service Sims share a virtual household among them with insane amounts of cash when they require it so they don't have to worry about such things as they perform their services.
I guess you could use MC to take his second job away and SP to set Career: Allow Find Job to False, But I don't know if that's enough to get him back into the service pool and to continue his engagement as your active household's assigned butler although for the moment it doesn't sound like his service assignment has actually been removed.

Or he ended up becoming a Roommate somehow. It's possible one of the other sims autonomously asked him to be a roommate but that shouldn't be possible unless they have a mod that is allowing it.

Thank you!
He wasn't a roommate. And something went sideways, because my sims weren't able to end butler services either. I wound up dragging every family member's relationship to the butler as low as possible so he'll quit, since he's clearly not satisfied being a butler. I'm thinking that will make him quit so they can hire someone who enjoys the job.
If he doesn't quit, and stays on out of spite, I'll put the relationships back where they were and try the MC/SP route.

Changing the relationships didn't work. I had one of my sims dismiss him and rehire a butler. They wound up getting the same one, and seconds later, that butler had "somewhere else he was supposed to be". Went the MC/SP route, and that worked! He's their butler again, no longer collecting money for doing nothing. Thank you!
