Couples Bed Sleep Problem

Post by C-Dark » August 19th, 2019, 12:24 pm

This is an issue I have since years and even I changed in Retuner
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Beds.BedSleep,Sims3GameplayObjects
kAutonomyDoubleBedForCouplesMultiplier
from 1.2 to 500

I can still see inactive couples, who are happily married (not my active household) sleeping in different double beds or with other family members in the double bed.

Is there anyone out here who can give me a tip what else I can do?

Oh, there's nothing worse than sims who don't want to sleep in their proper place! :xThe only, that can advise: take characters under control and take their in the necessary room and bed. If there are no failures, it will become a habit for them. If you don't want to take them under control, make snares with locking doors, so that they have no choice but to go and do what you want.

Well I have 16 housholds and young families are allowed to move. I really don't wanna do it manually for all couples in town

Couples Bed Sleep Problem

Post by JohnL83 » August 19th, 2019, 4:17 pm

It's a pain in the butt C-Dark I know, but Sara Darkees is right, the only way to make couples sleep in the same bed together (most of the time) is to make each of the households active and assign them beds. Even then I've noticed on some occasions they wont sleep where they are supposed to, especially if there is an unassigned bed in the house. I generally do this here and there as I play or look in on a house, so I don't have to spend an entire game assigning beds. I too have several households I follow.

Just so you know, I've even had my actives woohoo in their own bed, and once done, one sleeps right away and the other gets up and sleeps in another bed. This happened a couple of times and I'm not sure why, but at least it's not a constant issue.

Do you get the {insert expletive} trick or treaters year around? I've done all I can to stop this annoying practice, followed every tip I could find, and still see the little creeps in hot-dog costumes or some other stily thing show up randomly around town or at my actives door! If they would just do it once a year a Halloween time I wouldn't even care one bit, but the horror of the whole thing is that it happens all times of the year and it is even worse when you have extended the seasons. My Sim year is 50 days with summer lasting longest.

wow, johnL83, I have a very short season set up, 5 days summer and 4 the others to have more often season change so my sims can enjoy every season more often and can really get better in ice skating and such ;-) sims life is 80. I must admit that I have not ever seen sims doing trick or treat very often.
There is a retuner tuning option for Sims3.Gameplay.Situations.TrickOrTreatSituation
I thought Trick or Treat is only in Autumn?

Yeah, I know about the bedassignment. In my active household I assign the doors of all sleepingrooms to specific sims, this way no one else can enter and use their bed to woohoo or trying to sleep in another bed ;-)
Well than I have to live with it and check waht the inactives do now and then.

I'm thinking it has to have something to do with the extended seasons. I have all of my settings tuned to NOT have trick or treating, but as Igazor has said numerous times, it's a game bug that tends to override any tuning. It can happen year around in my games, but not all the time. It seems to coincide with prom. IDK why and Igazor's not been able to figure that out either.
From what I'm gathering, it happens most to those who have longer seasons set up. I tried the shorter times and I am not a fan, I get attached to my sims and hate to see them go so I play them longer.

My Sims live 1015 days. I am in the for the long haul. LOL.
The baby and toddler time only equals one sim year with babies only lasting about 2 weeks and toddlers get other 36. The children have 150 days, teens get 200 and YA get 225 then Adults live the longest with elders getting 200 days...but I have it set so that elders can live however long the game wants them to live with a random roll of the dice. So far my oldest sim lived 32 days past his expiration date while others don't make it more than one or two past that date. I currently have a family matriarch in town who's almost reached that same time, l'm anxious to see if she beats the record. She still works out all the time and goes around town training others...it kinda gets on my nerves and I sometimes use Debug to stop her screaming at them if my sims are within earshot. LOL She's rarely one of my actives. I haven't played her in a while. She lives alone with a cat and visits her kids often according to SP's updates. I usually just see her at the gym or the arcade with her grand-kids.

Do you have the Mod Tempest installed?
Check the days a season is valid. Maybe the days length is not the same like in your game option setup and so the season is repeating plus the holidays.
I just, after years I use it, first recognized that I can set more than one weather settings for each season, f.i. to smooth the temperature difference when the season changes 🤩

Sorry, but there is no setting in Tempest (I am aware of) for the "days a season is valid." The Game Options settings for season lengths are used exclusively precisely to avoid mismatches like that. The settings for holidays and multiple weather patterns have to occur within an already well-defined season.

If we go around changing season lengths mid-stream then of course anything can happen within the season currently being played. But even that would sort itself out after the next season change. The Trick or Treat issue, for those of us who experience it, is a result of some very resilient coding on EA's part that seems to resist tuning changes and the disallowing of Spooky Day entirely. With the holiday disallowed entirely and Retuner adjusted so that ToT should become impossible, it still happens year round for many of us only not nearly as often and yes, prom night for whatever reason seems to be one of the remaining occasional triggers. It's not a holiday or approaching one when it happens, it's a scenario that triggers for many of us, even for players who do not use mods, where it really shouldn't any longer.

Thanks for explaining Igazor, it is odd that this little glitch (or most annoying glitch, depending on personal view) only happens to some of us. I'd be curious to do a sort of inquiry as to what mods and what EP's each person has who has the issue vs those who do not have the issue. I'd imagine it would take time, but it may just be a particular combo of things that create the problem. Of course I have little or no clue how coding works, so I may be completely off base there too.

Sorry C-Dark, I'm not intending to hi-jack your thread here. I'm done now....and yes I have Tempest. <3
