Play with genetics question

I did “play with genetics” to a newborn baby. I selected one that has black hair but when he had birthday and turned into a toddler, this baby had blonde hair...
Hair color that you get to see on those different options when you do “play with genetics” does not really work? I could tell that the facial feature was what i chose but hair color was not...

Not sure I've ever seen the PwG hair color not stick, but hair color isn't really covered by genetics in the same way that sliders/features are. And there is built into the game a 15% chance of hair color mutations where a child picks up a color not inherited from any parent or grandparent.

Many of us find that Consort's hair color mod, compatible with everything NRaas, handles the hair color options much better.

I tried play with genetics as well, hoping to see some ghost genetics from an active ghost that's now in a test version of my game.
But this particular born in game ghost didn't have a tombstone in his inventory when he moved in and in the play with genetics screen he shows up as human.
So in another test game I added ghost to him via NRaas, Occult: add and his tombstone showed up in his inventory.
Then in play with genetics he did show up as a ghost!
But 5 Instant babies later, all of his children are human! Is that just the 50% luck of the draw?
or does Instant babies invalidate his ghostliness somehow? Grasping at straws here!

And when one of those 5 aged to toddler, I did play with genetics and chose a ghostly one, but she stayed human.

So does play with genetics not really change them?
Or am I missing something?

I did end up really liking the looks of all his human children as some of them got his 'human' pale skin, white eyes, and white hair, but when I move her into his home I was hoping for both his human genetics and his ghostly ones to show up in his children.

Am I hoping in vain?

Afraid so. Looks like MasterController doesn't support ghost babies at this time.

Good to know! Didn't want to keep banging my head on a wall that wasn't moving!
So I'll add his ghostliness back with MC and then let nature take it's course and hopefully get to see both human and ghost toddlers before we leave town!

I went the normal route for their babies in my test game and triplets were born! A ghost daughter, Sylvia. And two sons, Human Seth with dad's pale gray skin, and Human Sebastien with a light peach skin. Parents and babies all doing fine! The dad was even more thrilled when he got to eat ambrosia and become his pale gray skin, white, hair and eyes, human self!
Thanks so much for all the help here! My game just wouldn't be the same without NRaas mods and you all here!
