They Never Cease to Amuse Me

Post by loveshobbits » July 18th, 2019, 4:49 pm

I just had my sim, Victor Hernandez, head for the men's room with a drink in his hand. I figured it would disappear before he got there, but he put it on the back of the urinal, then picked it up again after flushing, and left the room still slurping on it. I didn't know they could do that! It made me laugh! I love that they can still surprise me and make me laugh after years of playing.

Anyone else have these kind of amusing or surprising "I didn't know they could do that" moments?

My sims make me laugh all the time. Whether it's merging into furniture or each other, or having my Insane sims flirt inappropriately with their sons-in-law or a non-active GF kiss her BF's father. But for "I didn't know they could do that" moments, I guess it was having non-active child party guest be late for the party, so instead of using the door, he floated straight into the dining room through the wall! I've yet to figure out how ghosts can eat food, sleep in beds, and get backrubs, but can float through walls, beds, or anything else in their way. But they still get mad when their routing is interrupted. Crazy sims!

One of my favorite situations, I miraculously guessed at the time to take screenshots.
Through the fault of the girl there was a small home disaster, but it didn't bother her too much.

Soon a compassionate butler ran to the rescue, to save his unreasonable mistress, but the poor man was not very good at such things.

In the end, this girl with my favorite firefighter together extinguished the ass of this klutz :)

And from a new I only recently learned, that sims themselves can create pond with fish. It might have been useful to me in the past, but not now.

Mine is also about a drink. I had no idea sims could take their drink into hot tub with them. They put the drink on the side of it.

I learned just recently that dogs can pee on Sims as a mean interaction. I had a random Sim just standing on my Sims' property one night and I wanted him to leave. I directed one of the dogs to do some mean interactions to him to hopefully get him to leave. The dog's bladder motive was low, and so the "pee on" option was available. I told the dog to do it and when he did I thought it was hilarious. And it did make the dude leave, presumably to go home and take a shower.

@Theapoo2 hahaha that'll teach 'em ;)

Had a creep standing in our front garden at night irl recently. Maybe I should've just peed on him from my bedroom window, instead of deciding to chase him/call the cops XD

Along the lines of the post:
IDK if this amuses me or annoys me, but what's with the crying over new objects in the house? I kind of get it if the sim is frugal or over-emotional, but I've had all manner of sims do this and it's so silly.

It's especially silly to be upset if they have tons of money, I mean, you can't even spend yourself into the poor-house in this game once your bank hit's those 5 and 6 digit amounts. :P

I think the sims are supposed to be expressing to us what they initially think of the object, not so much being sad or upset that they may have been charged money for it if their traits aren't dictating such sadness. Some new items will make them happy, others indifferent (eh!), and some they won't like but I would have thought a better animation in that case would be the one where they hold their nose or do a thumbs down and blow raspberries like they do when browsing a bakery display that does not please them. I can't remember the last time a new hanging plant that wasn't actually dead or a toilet roll holder made me so sad that I felt like crying, but then again I haven't been shopping for those items lately so I guess it could happen.

:D IDK, you may remember I bought a new PC several months ago and wanted to cry my eyes out, but maybe that was more frustration with Win 10 than actual sadness!

Thanks Igazor, I actually LOL and it's my first laugh of the day and that's saying something because I'm quite sick and home from work today, darn summer colds!

All that said, I do think it's funny that these random reactions happen the way they do. I often get more bawling over new objects than good reactions. And I've also had that same sim "view" the same object and cheer, he apparently loved the philodendron in the foyer, but hated the same plant in the living room....so they are quite wishy-washy those silly Sims!
