Newspaper for apartment building
It's more a question than a problem. For the first time, I decided to settle my sims in an apartment building that is analogous to the apartment buildings in Bridgeport. I'm pretty sure I placed the markers, the intercom and the mailbox quite correctly. But is it normal that newspaper delivery leave newspapers at the entrance? Wouldn't it be more realistic to put newspapers, letters bills and other paper notices in the mailbox?

Well I guess that is matter of taste. I live in a house and we get the paper delivered outside our door. They even wrap it in plastic if its raining or wet outide. Apartment buildings usually hang newspaper on the doorhandle or place in near the doorway. In my city the mail carrier has a key to quickly fill the mailboxes inside apartments. Most apartments have locked mailboxes. Since newspapers are delivered by private companies they aren't allowed the same privelage (although the US postal service is tecnically not fully a government entity I believe.) It may come down to your country, city, or perhaps neihborhood so IDK.

If we are talking about private property, it's normal to put a newspaper on the porch. In the case of an apartment building it looks at least strange. I thought maybe I missed something when equipped the building... Or is everything going as it should be, but maybe there are some fixes for that? I live in a flat and in my case such paper things postmen stuffed into a wall mailbox. Mailboxes are locked and only the owner of the flat has the key. They are made in such a way that there will fit the paper, but will not fit someone's hands.

EA probably thought about using the mailbox but most likely decided against for technical reasons (the mailbox is buggy enough as it is).Sara_Darkees wrote: ↑July 16th, 2019, 11:39 pmWouldn't it be more realistic to put newspapers, letters bills and other paper notices in the mailbox?
The USPS is indeed a full federal government entity but with semi-autonomous management to make financial decisions.LBillusion wrote: ↑July 17th, 2019, 2:32 amalthough the US postal service is tecnically not fully a government entity I believe

I have no idea what glitches you're talking about, because I haven't had any problems with it yet. Well... Can you or anyone else know a way to force them to at least go up to the apartment door? And I'd like pizza delivery to go up to the apartment door, too.sittingbear wrote: ↑July 17th, 2019, 4:44 amEA probably thought about using the mailbox but most likely decided against for technical reasons (the mailbox is buggy enough as it is).

They should use the Call Box to have you let them in and use the elevator if you live above the ground level.
The newspaper carrier will never use the Call Box they will always leave the paper at the building entrance.

If you're using overwatch we've already saved you the misery.
There's no way to alter the paper delivery position at this time I'm afraid.

I can agree. I played my game without Nraas or any mods and I was reminded just how much the community at large has fixed EA's game for them.Chain_Reaction wrote: ↑July 17th, 2019, 4:42 pmIf you're using overwatch we've already saved you the misery.

How can I live quietly without my favorite stereo and TV breaker? I remember how long ago I was very angry that some houses have long been empty, but from them I could hear the sound of the TV. It was creepy.Chain_Reaction wrote: ↑July 17th, 2019, 4:42 pmIf you're using overwatch we've already saved you the misery.
It's a pity that EA underworked life in the apartment, some little things are still annoying. Anyway, thank you all for your answers.
