What is she doing!

Post by littlelambsy » May 20th, 2019, 11:50 pm

My sim family went to bed and while they were sleeping I heard some strange noises outside and went to see what it was. I saw this female sim standing outside the house doing strange things that I have NEVER seen before. She is not a supernatural but a human Adult. I checked her stats and she's a Role Sim, a Mixologist with normal traits. What in the world is she doing???

She's a Showtime magician doing the appearing objects trick.

I have magicians disabled in careers disallow. Is there any way to disable magicians completely?

That only applies to residents. The game will still randomly assign sims to the Showtime careers for the Simfest's.

Short of uninstalling Showtime.....nope no way to completely stop it.

Thanks sittingbear. I dont like those showtime careers, except for singers and acrobats.

There's only three such careers so you may as well have just said that you don't like magicians (as you kind of did prior). :)

The tendency to assign these slots to otherwise homeless Role Sims and others spawned just for this purpose drive many of us crazy. I keep taking the assignments away, giving the Role Sims the Careers Mod Unemployed placeholder career, and TAing the unnecessary new homeless performers unless I see another use for them, but usually I don't get more than a couple in each career per world. Or at least I try not to let more than a couple form, sometimes these things do get away from me as well.

LOL I must be tired, its late. You're right, it would have been easier to just say I don't like magicians. Its annoying when these careers get assigned to Role sims. I got a role sim assigned to Arsil's Generic Role Desk and he came dressed in a weird acrobat outfit and kept twirling flaming batons. It didn't fit the role he was assigned to and he kept setting himself on fire!

I TA'd the female in my picture. So its good to know I can reassign them to the Unemployed career and TA the rest. :)
