Too much romance and too many partners

Post by CherSquared » May 6th, 2019, 2:01 pm

I'm new to mods and recently downloaded woohooer, story progression, and master controller to my game. After adjusting the woohooer settings romance interactions are available to any Sim no matter their relationship level. For example, meeting a new Sim will have the same romance options as a spouse. Did I miss something in the settings? I would like these options only to show when the relationship is a high enough level.

I think I also made it possible to have a boy/girlfriends while married but have no idea how. My married Sim went away to college and had the option of going steady with a fellow student. Now she has a husband AND a boyfriend. How do I get this back to where a married Sim cannot have a BF/GF?

Thanks!!

Too much romance and too many partners

I don't have sims that cheat and the way I've set this up is with a few woohoo settings. My settings are as follows:

In Woohooer > Romance Options: Interaction Level: Married = Spouse
Woohooer > Romance > Species: Human > Allow Near Relation Romance = False
Woohooer > Romance > Species: Human > Liking Gate for Autonomous = 40
Woohooer > Romance > Species: Human > Attraction Base Scoring = 25

In Woohooer > Whoohoo > Interaction Level = Spouse
Woohoo > Cooldown between woohoos = 1440
woohoo > Liking Gate for Autonomous = 40

To slow down romance with townies/npc's Click on city hall > Nraas > Story Progression > General > Options: Romance > speed (mins/cycle) > Default is 300, change this number to a higher number. The higher the number the slower the speed for romance happening.
Change Liking Gate: City Hall > Nraas > Story Progression > General > Options:Romance > partnership liking gate > Default is 40, set to higher value (60-80)
Marriage Liking Gate: City Hall > Nraas > Story Progression > General > Options:Romance > Marriage Liking Gate. Change default 75 to 90-95

As for sims having a boyfriend/girlfriend and a husband/ wife, this is common if the sim travels to another world. The game doesn't seem to recognize that the sim is partnered.

I also have a marriage caste which only allows married sims to have children.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but I hope this helps :)

"By Jove, I think she's got it." :)

On the Uni thing, I'm afraid that's part of the game's design. Sims can only have one partner, that's Steady BF/GF or higher, as there is only one field per sim to hold that information but it's world specific. So actually sims can go as far as to be married and have several spouses, one in each world, as long as the partners/spouses are never in the same world at the same time.

Since sims not actively being played cannot cross worlds on their own except as somewhat empty-headed (limited use) tourist mini-sims, this world-specific thing typically only affects the actively being played sims. Perhaps while at Uni or elsewhere, if there is a partner left behind back home, you might want to disallow romance of any kind on that specific sim? Or ignore it, they may wish to flirt as that's different but they aren't going to be able to form a new relationship on their own while you are controlling them.

Interesting. I invited the BF to my Sims home world and he was still listed as such. Since he was initially her BF at uni I thought this might have "reset" their relationship but it did not.

I also don't mind if my Sims cheat. I just don't want the romance options if they're not high enough in their relationship.

MasterController can be used to reset their relationship status once the sims are both in the same world.
NRaas > MC > (Sim) > Intermediate > Long-Term Relationship by Category > (set to some level of Friendship instead of Steadies)

Otherwise with both the husband and the BF in the same world at the same time, one partnership or the other will tend to dissolve after a while.

Are you sure that sims with a lower relationship have all romance options in their pie menu? They should have the woohoo options (that's the point of adding Woohooer) but the other stuff (kissing, hugging...) should work as usual. Adjusting the Woohooer options as littlelambsy suggested will manage the autonomous behaviour of sims and if they randomly woohoo or not but it won't remove the woohoo options from the pie menu.
