Accuse of cheating

Post by kkaizer » May 5th, 2019, 5:40 pm

it’s a bit connected to my previous post. So i enabled romantic interactions and disabled long term relationships. I played for a while with this setting and the sims who I went in to play already had several romantic interests. And whenever I had them have long term relationship with one of those interests, the next time they met, those partner sims approached to my sims and does accuse of cheating interaction. How does this thing work? Do they just know that their partner sim has romantic interests without seeing them doing romantic interactions?

Pretty much. It's amazing how fast rumors can start and remember that Accuse of Cheating doesn't mean the sim in question has actually cheated.

But anyway, in such cases or a subset of them, a liberal distribution of the No Jealousy LTR (WA required) would probably help. Note that its effects are intended for the sims engaging in or who would be accused of engaging in the cheating activity, not the ones who would end up eventually feeling jealous.

Accuse of cheating

I've seen sims in a romantic relationship flirt and others standing by see them and have that horrified look and a image of the sim with a red line through it. So, depending on your settings, sims can find out through gossip and basically as igazor says, they just know.

I had a sim who I played in Appaloosa Plains and didn't realize she had like 10 romantic interests. When she got married I had to get her to ask to be just friends with them all. It was really funny when her husband went to work she called them all and invited over. It was then I saw this whole parade of old sims with walking sticks, and a few adults all arriving at her house. She was a YA! When she broke up with them, then the parade of elders, all hobbled off with broken hearts LOL

Accuse of cheating

Not sure this is relevant to the original topic, but when I was a newer and much less experienced player and I believe still using AwesomeMod for progression rather than NRaas SP, I tried to have my active sim date his former babysitter once they were age appropriate since they always got along so well. Actually I think tried while my sim was still a teen, but anyway it didn't work out well at all for various reasons and I forgot about it.

Many sim "years" later, my sim was a VERY happily married YA and by then had what must have been 3 of their eventual 12 kids. The doorbell rings, it's the former babysitter standing there, now an elder (that couldn't have been right but who knows with Service Sims) and with some sort of hygiene problem, green fumes emanating and everything. I felt so bad, the prior relationship not working out I thought was mutual, and had no idea what I was supposed to do with this surprise guest at the door whose life I felt like I had ruined. Not that he could have had much of a life to begin with, starting out a homeless babysitter and all.

Today I would known how to be much kinder to him and set him up with something better for a life than he must have had, but all I could do back then was invite him in for a meal, some friendly chat, and send him on his way. My sims moved to a new world soon after that, so they kind of lost touch since then. And that would have been around when I switched to SP for progression, so with that or maybe it was one of the later game patches, pretty much no more surprise visitors ringing the doorbell. :(
