Consider attractiveness... ?

Post by JohnL83 » April 29th, 2019, 9:28 am

What are the guidelines for this option? I have a sim in a relationship with a homeless sim that he started up autonomously, so I decided to let it play out. (he was created to be straight too so IDK, maybe he got curious? LOL) The two guys actually share two traits, good and overemotional. I know sims can't "see" each other the way we do but this sim is also physically fit like mine, and attractive as far as sims go. Also their relationship status is well over 75%. But when I used the action, "consider attractiveness" it said my sim rated him a 1 out of 10?? While it's nice to know my sim isn't so shallow he is basing relationships on only looks, I'm still wondering what this mod uses as guidelines to consider attractiveness? And why did this relationship even start up if not only was he supposed to be straight, but doesn't even find this sim attractive? I thought it was a trait-based thing that also included stuff like astrological sign and fav foods/colors etc. Surely if they share two traits that would mean something? Also, I did check and both sims are now well over 6 on the Kinsey-scale so it's not a gender preference thing either.

That function almost never returns anything meaningful for me. Almost every time I use it, the two sims score either a 1 or a 10, with nothing in between. Think I saw a 7 once years ago and almost fell out of my chair from surprise. I find Scan Room (on Sim menus, placed there by Woohooer) to be much more useful. The results it returns are not exactly the same metric, although mutual attraction is a huge part of it, nor on the same scale.

Thanks for this. Up to now I just thought I was making incredible matches because nearly all my sims I've used this action on while dating said they thought the other was a 10. LOL That said, this was not my first 1, but it was the first one I'd seen with sims who actually liked each other and were in a romantic relationship. I started to wonder too if it had to do with the sim being homeless. Because I did notice that I did not see the "pollinate" option for the homeless sim. But it's there now that I made him a resident.

Homeless sims cannot be impregnated, their "household" is full. Or rather it cannot accommodate babies, so such pregnancies are I believe blocked by the game core and MC isn't going to be able to cut through that in this case.
