Random moodlets??

Post by JohnL83 » April 25th, 2019, 9:59 am

This isn't a big deal, but occasionally I have sim who get a random moodlet that I don't quite understand.

Case in point: I often see a sim or two of mine with the "Peaceful" moodlet and it says it's (from genie) I never play with a Genie and the sims who are getting these moodlets haven't interacted with anything that I'm aware of that could give them this. Is this one of my mods just adding moodlets to my sims? What could be going on? Again, it's not a big deal, most of the time they are nice moodlets, but I'm just curious why they are getting them.
I can't think of another odd moodlet right now, but there have been one or two I didn't recognize that appeared, none were really bad, but just random and I wasn't sure how they got them.

From what I found searching, sims can get this moodlet from dreaming. Do you let your sims children and teens dream when they are sleeping?

My teens get that Peaceful moodlet much of the time. I gave up long ago trying to figure out why and either zap it away or let them keep it. I don't think I've ever seen children/younger or adults get it for no reason. Glad you mentioned it though, I had become convinced I was the only one seeing it. :)

If I remember correctly there is a hidden trait that goes along with the moodlet. I can't remember if the trait has an icon or not.

Igazor and Sittingbear - Thanks. Good to know I'm not nuts...okay well...:P

The ones in my game who have it are children. I have not seen it appear on the YA or Adults, (or at least I have not noticed it) only teens and children so far. Weird. I can't imagine what trait it could be. The next time I play I will check it out and list the traits of those with the moodlet and maybe those of us who see this moodlet can compare notes.

I almost always have my active children and teens dream and I always suspected this was the source but could never prove it. The moodlet does seem to first show up, when it does, just as my younger sims wake up and when they might otherwise (or in addition) get the Good or Bad Dream moodlet. The difference is that the Peaceful one I believe lasts for 2 sim days. :)

The trait called Wished for World Peace and it doesn't have an icon so it would be hard to spot.
And it's also an inheritable trait https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Hidden_trait

I think I figured it out with Arathea's post. It's not about a trait in my sims case, I had all the kiddies and teens in the house dream that night and that's why a few of them had that. Two of the six kids had nightmares so I guess that's why they did not. To be sure this was it I had them dream again and a few woke up with the peaceful moodlet. Thanks Arathea! :) But as Igazor points out it's not every sim who dreams, even if they are good dreams, it must be a special thing that happens at random.

Sittingbear - I did check their hidden traits and no kids had any except one kid and she had the rocker one.
