Stylist CAS Mode Issues

Post by Anonymous User » April 4th, 2019, 11:32 pm

Greetings Nraas Industries!

I played around with all Nraas mod settings, that I think I've messed up Stylist mode big time.

The problem is, that I can change the sims outfits IN game mode, but when it comes to Stylist mode--for example, I can change the sims' outfit to everyday wear when in live mode, but if I go into Master Controller's Stylist mode to change the shirt, pants, accessories, or hair, or even try to change outfit categories, the whole outfit will stay the same, I can't even make a new outfit with any category. The outfit will just stay static, no matter what I do!

I don't know what settings are causing the problem, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Nraas, because my custom content worked fine before.

I have all the Nraas mods except for StoryProgression, Animator, or HomeOpener.

Thanks in advance.

Stylist CAS Mode Issues

Hi there. Let's start with clearing (deleting) the five cache files on the top level of the TS3 user game folder in Documents before starting up the game if you don't already do this on a regular basis.

If that's no help, then does EA's version of CAS work as it should? Remove the MC Integration add-on module (clear the script cache), load up and bring a sim into CAS through testingcheatsenabled true and a shift-click (or use a dresser for Plan Outfit). This will now be the EA version of CAS, no longer MC's but you can verify that by right-clicking on the "..." button in the lower left corner that leads to game options, save, quit, etc. A right-click there in EA's version will do nothing, but in MC's version you will get a panel of MC CAS settings. Do things work any better in EA CAS?

If the issue persists even there, then you have a mod or some form of content that is conflicting with CAS generally. If that clears everything up, then I would have to say that you have a mod or some form of content that is conflicting with MC itself, you have a patch level mismatch (what patch level is your game on and how was it installed), or you have a "bad download" of MC and it needs to be replaced though this one seems odd if the problem is there now though it never was before and nothing has changed since then.

If you are still certain it's a mod setting that is doing this though, then do a reset of MC's settings with NRaas > MC > Settings > Reset Settings, as that will bring every option related to MC back to the standard ones. There is nothing in the other NRaas mods (that I am aware of) that could be interfering like this.

=20pxHey, there!

Apologies for the late reply....

I tried everything possible. Removing bad custom content files, re-downloading store fixes and files, resetting Nraas MasterController settings, resetting my Sims 3 folder and not even removing all mods didn't even do the trick. Maybe it's a fault in my graphics, but here's some Script Error messages I keep getting:

=20pxIn the meantime, is there a way I can reset all personal Nraas mod settings in-game all at once? Thanks in advance.

That error log is puzzling. You have a sim named Anna Olsen in this world with broken autonomy that the game cannot figure out if it should be drawing her in to rabbithole lot. The puzzling thing is that Anna is dead and is not a resident household sim ghost.

Can we confirm that you continue to get errors like this and the CAS problem on a clean game folder with no mods from sources other than NRaas at all? What about on a new test game on that clean game folder, again no mods other than NRaas? I mean, the game did not ship from EA this way, so something is indeed off-kilter here.

Also can we confirm that you are not ever loading up game saves or starting new ones by retreating the Main Menu after ending the prior one, but rather quitting all the way to the Desktop and reloading instead? (I can explain why this is problematic if necessary)

And we really need the answer to the question of what kind of install this is. I can see it's Patch 1.67, but was the original install media the retail store discs or did it come from some other source (which one)? What is the source of these store fixes mentioned , and are we talking about decrapified store content or did you mean something else -- is your store content from the actual TS3 store or again from some other source?

That error is an EA bungle with ghosts that live in the graveyard, it can be ignored or you can TA Anna to resolve it. It's not related to CAS issues which sound CC or mod related.

=20pxOK. Apologies for the inactivity on this thread. But now, I can't start Sims 3 without pulling all the Nraas mods out. Is there a way I completely remove custom Nraas settings that I might have edited in-game, or is there another solution? Thanks in advance.

If you run and save your game without NRaas mods present, then there will be no saved settings. The mod settings are stored in the game saves, they become undefined and (should) get deleted once the mods are gone. You might want to put ErrorTrap back in first though, if you are intending to add the mods back in, as it should clean up any orphaned settings that might linger.

And of course the scriptCache and the other top level cache files should be cleared (deleted) with each change to the contents of Mods or Mods\Packages.

In order to continue to try helping, afraid I'm going to have to insist on an answer to the source of install and store content question. We can see it's not Origin (current) or Steam, are these retail store discs or downloads, and from which source?

=20pxOK. The problem is getting more and more complicated...even to explain now, I have no idea what's going on anymore. Perhaps I'll carry on finding a solution on my own. And yes, this is an unofficial version of the Sims 3, but that wasn't the case. Thanks for your assistance anyways. ;)

As NRaas mods are only supported on legitimate installs of the game, and this one appears to be in question, this thread will now be locked.
