Game Performance Game Randomly Shut down.
Game Randomly Shut down.
I don't have the option to turn it on and off, it simply says 'This PC supports Game Mode.'
Game Randomly Shut down.
Is there anything else I should adjust on my laptop or do I need to post another script log? I really just want to be able to play the game as I did on my old laptop. What else, other than the frame rate, and Game Mode would cause the Sims 3 to just shut down without any warning (No pop up of any kind, is literally closes itself down and I am suddenly staring at my desktop. It doesn't freeze before it shuts down either...)

Where you said prior that you "basically reset the sims 3 folders," did you do so by removing added content and mods like KW but keeping the original game folder in play or did you pull the entire TS3 user game folder out of Documents (or rename it) so that a new one spawns to take its place? If there are any residual effects of mods or CC getting still getting in the way, then the prior game folder might be damaged and needs to be replaced with a fresh one -- then the Framework set up on it, NRaas mods added back in, and then content known to be safe to use, etc.
And are these new ongoing games you are playing or had they had the KW and Hospital Overhaul mods applied to them prior? Sorry to keep harping on this, but these mods break ongoing games and (sometimes) user game folders, the first because it is poorly programmed and the second because of the severe effects of it being outdated. Even if not the direct cause of the crashes at the moment, it is very difficult to rule them out if they existed in the current game folder.

How do I turn off Game Mode?sittingbear wrote: ↑April 7th, 2019, 10:09 pmAre you using Win 10? If so are you using Game Mode? Turn it off it doesn't play nicely with games that are not for Game For Windows Live actually it doesn't even play nicely with those either.

Yes, I removed all my CC, downloads, and saved sims from the folder before deleting it and booting up sims 3 to make a brand new one. Before I put my CC back in I removed KW, and now hospital overhaul. I don't currently have any of these mods installed in my game.igazor post_id=65319 time=1554778647 user_id=6716 wrote: Where you said prior that you "basically reset the sims 3 folders," did you do so by removing added content and mods like KW but keeping the original game folder in play or did you pull the entire TS3 user game folder out of Documents (or rename it) so that a new one spawns to take its place? I don't have the older games since I unistalled sims 3 on my old laptop, but yes, I had KW, hospital overhaul, and Nraas and never ran into this particular problem when playing on my old computer. When it did crash it had the usual pop up of 'The Sims 3 has stopped working'.

I am still running into the same problem...I noticed this MDMP File appeared in my Sims 3 folders after the crash along with a text file...would there be info about the crash in these files?
This was the name of the file: xcpt LAPTOP-HLH64KQ1 19-04-10 22.30.44

The xcpt files are crash logs, they are usually useless as all they tell us is that the game crashed. The accompanying memory dump mdmp files are always useless, they tell us the contents of the RAM registers in binary code at the time of the crash but there isn't anything that can be done with that information. We always advise deleting both of them to help reduce clutter since unlike script logs they never go away on their own.
No luck with the Game Mode switch off procedure that sittingbear provided?
If this game folder, including the ongoing game save, has never seen KW nor the Hospital Overhaul mod, not that they were removed but that they were never there in the first place and the ongoing save had never been played with them present, the only thing left I can suggest is that you might have bad CC that is only just now acting up in CAS while the catalogs for selection are being built or elsewhere when a sim somewhere in the world might be accessing, using, or spinning into an outfit that includes the CC.
If the current game folder has had either mod in place before they were removed or the current game save(s) have been played with either of them in place prior, then I'm very sorry but we're just going in circles here.

It closed out in CAS twice now, so it is definitely some CC. Could it be the type of CC that looks weird in CAS? As in the color is off or you can see shapes on the clothes, but outside of CAS, you can't. I can try removing that CC and resetting the folder again to see if it works. Is there any mod that lets you know that the CC is broken?igazor wrote: ↑April 10th, 2019, 11:46 pmThe xcpt files are crash logs, they are usually useless as all they tell us is that the game crashed. Package based CC can be scanned with Delphy's Dashboard. The components of sims3packs can be at least examined with Custard, both available from MTS. But there will be false positives and things that are problematic can be missed as in not reported on. If the item(s) is/are not showing up right in or out of CAS, then that's a pretty huge indicator that something is probably wrong with them.

I just downloaded dashboard and went through my cc, a few 'conflicts' and a sims2package file. I took everything out and will see if it changes anything.
