GoHere and the Architecture Career - waiting forever

Post by sayTaina » April 6th, 2019, 6:06 pm

Hello! It's been a long time since I've had a problem. For the Architecture career, is it possible that GoHere is affecting clients from actually coming to check on renovations? I find my sim waiting forever and then he will go and try to find them. It took all Sim day and lots of cancelling cab rides to finally get them on the lot and to finish one job. Anyone else with this issue that found a fix?

This is what I get for trying to play the game legitimately...

Well yes, if it's during the client's working hours that will happen. The base game itself pushes sims who are not at work/school to go (back) there, SP even more so. I don't think GoHere is really playing a role there. And it's not like they are running away from you to play in a sandbox on the neighborhood playground or go snowboarding (unless it's their job to do those things).

It is up to the design/architect professional to get to know their customers so they can predict their behavior and plan/react accordingly. This was covered in a lecture that all first years have to sit through...okay, never mind all that nonsense. But if you really want to take control of such a situation and you can see that the client's scheduled days/times off are not going to work well for you, then you could use MC to give them a paid day off at least somewhat in advance of their shift time. That is cheating, in a way, but I'm not really sure what else EA had in mind when they set these meet the customers in their own homes kinds of scenarios.

Instead of going all over town and canceling cab rides, could you not issue a MasterController Go Home command on the client?

They will come to the lot and then leave again. I think it's pushing them to go do other things like finish work or some such nonsense.
