Cassie, the Gnome is keeping every wild animal off my lot. I was wondering if it would also keep away stray dogs and cats and while I'm not 100% sure it has, I have not seen any animals visit my sims home since putting the Gnome there and setting him to not allow any wildlife. :) Thank you for your suggestion! I think the game must consider any un-owned animal as wildlife, but again, it's possible I just have not had a stray cat or dog visit. But this did stop the horses and they were bugging me the most. Especially since they eat from my sims garden.
There are 3 gnomes 1 for all wildlife (does not include cats and dogs) that includes deer, raccoons and horses, 1 for dogs only and 1 for cats only.

Wild horse routing

JohnL83, I often play gardeners and I agree those horses eating the produce are so annoying. I've never used the garden gnome to keep them away though, because I like strays. So I just put a fence with a locked gate around the garden. I'm glad it is working for you and that I was able to help. :)

sittingbear, because of the heart on their signs, I assumed the canine and feline gnomes could only be set to attract strays. I just ran a quick test on them, and discovered that you need to click them in live mode to set them to "Discourage Stray Visitors". The heart stays but their face and stance change. :-o
I learn something new on this site every day! :D

SIttingbear. Thanks for clearing that up, but I was just pointing out that since putting the gnome there I have not had any animals show up and yet, prior to placing him I had stray cats and dogs show up almost daily. Along with the annoying horses and random deer. But nothing now. Not sure why, but I did figure that since it said nothing of cats or dogs when clicking him that it was likely just a fluke or coincidence.

Most likely coincidence. I've actually never had a stray cats and dogs visit my sims lot. I've also never used the gnomes I have horses disabled in my game I used to have them but when a horse somehow got onto my sims roof or into the basement to eat his garden it was time for the horses to go.
