SP Careers Question

Post by JohnL83 » March 28th, 2019, 5:31 pm

If I select the option to allow some career levels to only one sim, what all jobs are affected? I like the idea of say, only one "leader of the free world" or mayor or whatever. I also like just having one boss at the top of many careers. But what I'm wondering is if things like teachers are affected? For example: Will I be able to have more than one high school teacher at the school?

I am assuming that this option means the modder tried to make this as realistic as possible, so I'm assuming the answer would be yes, of course there can be more than one of each kind of teacher at the school, but I was hoping there may be a more detailed list out there so I can be sure of what is affected and make better choices for my sims who fill more of the jobs than others.

The highest employment in most of my games falls under the police, hospital, science, school and sports jobs. Other towns have more actors and musicians. I do try to fill every position available with my sims, other than those few that wont actually do any work, like inventors and gardeners.

Yes I did try to have them pushed to invent and garden, but then my sims inventories get clogged with tons of crap. It is too bad those options don't just push people with jobs in that field. But I had so many sims with traits in those categories that half the town was fishing, collecting tons of rocks, fruit, inventions, painting...etc. They don't seem to sell them off as much as I'd like, if at all.

I've never seen a complete list of jobs and levels affected by the restricted option, but in the Education career in particular teachers are Levels 4-6. The option is intended for career levels where it usually wouldn't make sense to have more than one, so I would take that to be Superintendent of Schools (Level 10) and maybe, possibly Principal (Level 9).

The list, albeit in XML format, is here https://github.com/Chain-Reaction/NRaas ... ayLead.xml

In the event that a level isn't listed there, it means it's unrestricted. In addition if a level doesn't have a TotalAllowed node, it means it is restricted to 1.
