about the "library" folder ...

=14pxIs it possible to subdivide the library folder into directories and have the game still pick up the library entries? Say, I have a subdirectory called "houses" and I put all my house files in there - will that work? Or do I have to keep all buildings and lots in the main library folder?

I believe that they all need to be on the top level of the main Library folder. But if you can work out which files pertain to which assets, you can rename the files so that all of the houses for example begin with the same prefix and then things can stay better organized by sorting. The files do not have to keep those goofy hex code names that they get assigned.

Thank goodness - I sat here after I posted that last night and did that very thing. I renamed all my library files. s3pe to the rescue there; huge help. Now I have a list of "home", "lot", "club", "factory", and so forth. With more than 100 items in that folder, that certainly brings some sense of sanity to it.

Shame we can't subcategorize, though. I suppose those library package files won't show up if you dump them into the "packages" subdirectory? ...

A girl can dream!! LOL

While I'm at it, I have several Sims that are package files. Do they need to go into the Library or SavedSims?

You'd think after playing this game almost ten years, I'd have a better handle on this stuff. :D

That depends. The correct answer is whichever one works. :)

If they are households, even a household of one, they should be package files and go into the Library to show up in the Edit Town household bin.

If they are individual sims, the file extension should be changed to .sim and they go into SavedSims to show up as CAS templates.
