Get up early for work

Post by Sara_Darkees » March 9th, 2019, 6:17 pm

Good time of day. I want to ask again to find the necessary string in gameplaydata, then to change the values using a Returner. I'd like all inactive Sims in the current town to go to work two hours before the start of the workday, not half an hour. And I think this should also apply to school children. I'll be glad if someone will help. I tried to find it myself and once in the past I kind of succeeded. But I didn't think to write the necessary string in my notebook :(

Hey @Sara_Darkees! I can't help you with the exact location of the string in the gameplaydata package file, but maybe looking into the code of this mod might give you some insight:

Get up early for work

Thank you for trying to help, but that's not exactly what I wanted. I don't care what time my sim gets up. It is often my ward is the most diligent, in contrast to the uncontrollable sims. I'd like the other sims to leave the house early, but it seems like I really want too much from the game.
By the way, when I used the SP for a while, I was just overwhelmed with messages that someone was playing truant and was late. And how this Simnation still looks like a prosperous country...

I have found that if sims are playing truant, sometimes it is because it is difficult for them to get to their school or place of work. Try sending your sim there when he isn't busy, and see if it is easy or difficult to get there. I find this especially the case when I make my own rabbit holes with the rabbit hole rugs. Sometimes I just need to turn the rug around or move it a few places, and then the sims find it easier to enter it.

@sheridanhoughton makes a good point here! Sometimes, townies are at the RH job/school on time but because so many people are trying to enter the building at once, some of them ultimately fail to get in, triggering SP notifications such as "X townie plays truant" or "X townie is late for work".

Installing the following mod might help reduce these 2 problems: http://modthesims.info/d/568897/additio ... rsity.html

You might also want to look into installing both the Careers base mod and its "School" module, as they provide additional school lots for townie children/teens which spreads the number of townie school students across town and thus reduces the overwhelming door crowding notifications.

I also get those notifications quite often in Bridgeport without the schools or career rabbitholes really being overcrowded. Much of the time the tardy sim is already at work by the time I get the notification and find them, other times they will be still on their way but almost there. And then sometimes they are totally stuck but Overwatch hasn't "noticed" yet. It's difficult for sims to get into and out of their houses in that world because of the elevators, depending on where they live and where the game has them instantiate/come out of semi-hibernation, and it's just more difficult in general to get around than in others. Plus I suspect many of them are just not very punctual, not sure how much of that is intended or just my imagination. :)

No, in my case it is not a catastrophic problem. I like to watch the town when my wards are sleeping. I checked even the most problematic place - the school. But even there safely fit all sims. I needed exactly the string that is responsible for the moment when sim will drop everything and set out to work for the good of society. And that they are completely playing truant work... it's another story. They don't get stuck. They are simply not going to go to work.
