How to blacklist Basegame CAS items upon reroll?

Post by MissPatTS3 » February 26th, 2019, 8:01 pm

Hello all :)

So thanks to the Dresser blacklisting tuning tutorial & examples, I managed to successfully prevent all Sims 3 EP CAS items from showing up when Dresser or moi rerolls a sim's appearance.

But I'd like to take it one step further and prevent Dresser from even daring to show me one more basegame CAS clothing / makeup / accessory / hair / body hair when I click on "reroll". I have tons of custom clothes/hair/makeup/accessories, etc. and seeing them appear on a sim routinely takes 15+ clicks on the "reroll" option.

Any idea how I could achieve my goal...?

Hi MissPatTS3!

I know Master Controller can hide whole packs of content in CAS but I'm not sure that will have any effect on Dresser rerolls. You could try it and see what happens though.

Click on City Hall > NRaas > Master Controller > Settings > CAS > Hide By Pack > The Sims 3 and change it to 'True', then try a reroll in Dresser.

Let me know what happens if you decide to try it or if not, hopefully, someone else will have a better idea. :-)

How to blacklist Basegame CAS items upon reroll?

@Sarah_Sims: It helped! Thanks. It reduced the number of rerolls to see my CC from 15+ clicks down to 3+ clicks.

I used the MC Settings command to hide all 22 packs (basegame, all stuff packs, all EPs) but a lot of those clothes are still showing up in my CAS  I'm going to try the "hide EA CAS" mods over at MTS to see if it gets me a more consistent result.

Thanks for all your help! Very appreciated.

The only reason I can think of why that might be happening is if you are entering CAS using an EA function, rather than an MC one. Do you have the Master Controller Integration module installed? That will ensure you are using the MC version, whichever way you enter CAS. :-)

Yes I have MC Integration module, the latest version (134). I'm wondering if there is a conflict with some of my other mods.

As Master Controller is a script mod, it's quite rare for it to conflict with other mods. I'm not sure what might be happening here but hopefully, someone else will pop into this thread soon and throw some light on the matter for you. Fingers crossed! :-)

I've had the same thing happen. It's possible it has a limit to how much it can handle similar to the Black Listing limit of 30,000 lines.

Hmm, does the stuff still showing up just have the EA icon and not also the custom content icon? I know sometimes creators use certain items as their base and if it's CC it's probably not tagged as being from the right pack.

In addition if you hide just 2 or 3 does it work correct? If so, after how many packs does it break?

Is it only hiding some of the assets or does it hide them all up to a certain pack then they are all showing after that?

Here's my test no CC only Store worlds and all EP's and SP's.
Starting with the Base Game, WA and Highend Loft all got hidden then I moved on to Ambitions and Fast Lane same result everything hidden. So I started going up and hiding EP's and SP's and everything stayed hidden up until I got to ITF then everything was showing up again.

But I decided to try something on a whim using ralphaelninja's Game Selector I disabled everything after Supernatural leaving only SN and the EP's and SP's that pre-dated it.
Starting with the Base Game, WA and Highend Loft all stayed hidden and moved up from there and once again everything stayed hidden until I got to Supernatural once I tried to hide SN everything was showing again.

I tried multiple configurations with Game Selector but it looks like it will not hide everything. Trying to hide everything breaks it.
