If the game works on the new game folder, then you would probably want to keep it and begin moving your content and (other) mods in. You have nothing to lose but some time on also moving a save or two into the new folder and trying them out, or let's say a copy of the new folder so you don't have to do this all again if you end up in the same place as now. But as sittingbear says, my expectations for success on the older games that had indeed "seen" the KW mod are very low.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about deleted item replacements ordinarily. But among other things the mod tends to break the game's trait and dream managers once removed because of the irreversible way it alters those and those are essential for continued gameplay. We have no way to fix that. We are fortunate in that mods do not affect the game install (the Program files), only the user game folder and its saves, but I'm sure that's not much consolation when one really does have to start over.

I've been saying for years now that mod alters data in a way that is harmful and reckless. The core in no way was written to support the things it tries to do. It makes so many structure changes, some of which even error out with it installed, but most of which really explode with it removed. That's all fine on saves you don't care about but you shouldn't ever introduce that mod to a save you want to keep.

I really admire Twallan for his intelligence to exploit the core in ways that weren't careless. I try my best to mirror that. I couldn't ever see myself releasing a mod with the preface that "all your saves will be trash if you don't like my work". It does absolutely no service to your users or even your integrity to knowingly cause as much avoidable grief and support issues as the developer of that mod has. But I suppose when you have to get new releases out as fast as you can to charge for them you have no time to care about studying the core to avoid grief.

Now where have I heard this before? Has a new hastily produced EP or patch been released by EA?

Hello again! I really appreciate everything you have done for me. My computer created the new user game file, created a new game and the game has been working perfectly ever since! But now, I have a little trouble with MC'S CAS. (this is ridiculous but it's getting on my nerves) I have had this problem with my triplets in the past. After I saw the freezing though, I just gave up and let them look the way they did, it didn't really bother me cause I was going to change households.
So, in this game I am playing currently, I have aged up my baby sims (2) with bday cakes to toddlers the normal old-fashioned way. Well, then when I go to change their looks in CAS from MC, one after another, and after I am done with all of them, the game freezes. I have to sat there waiting for such a long time and nothing happened so I quit the game. What could be the cause to this? This doesn't happen with one baby, but with two and three it does.

I'll preface this by saying that the system on which I am playing is not state of the art and never was more than mid-range when it was new seven years ago. I can't bring three just aged up sims into CAS in any kind of rapid succession and change everything about them (clothes in all categories, hair, CAS sliders, etc.) without expecting the game to run out of usable resources in the end and crash, get stuck, or Error 12 on me. What I can do is change one or two, or maybe stop at one and a half, save (as), quit, and reload then continue on. Triplets are tricky if they age up all in the same sim day around the same time, but I've learned to just be patient and tend to them more slowly rather than all at once.

That's not a fault of MC CAS, it's the game being its 32-bit charming self. Whether it's usable RAM (~3.7 GB is the absolute limit), video memory (vram) or something else difficult to nail down that it's running out of I can't determine, but there are barriers there preventing many of us from doing as we would like immediately in such circumstances.

Okay. I figured that was the case but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks though.
