No romantic interactions unless sims are moved in together

Post by MLyeah21 » February 8th, 2019, 4:33 pm

As the title says, there are no romantic interactions for sims unless they are moved in together and I would like to fix this. Once they are moved in together, the romantic interactions become available. I have non-active family stasis set to true which may be a factor in why, however I want to keep this setting.

Help please, as I want sims to have romantic relationships without having to live together!

Hi there. In order to test your theory, on a trial run of the game (you don't have to save it) try switching off Stasis on the Sim or Household Option level of the sim you are trying to romance. Either one will trump the Not Active Caste Option setting. Do the interactions return?

If not, I would have to point out that the romance manager in this collection of mods is Woohooer. That one gives us more flexibility than SP does, in many cases without it we are relying on EA standard for these things. The mod also provides a way to see why specific user-directed romantic interactions are failing to show. Do you have Woohooer in play?

Hi, thank you for your reply. I tried to change the settings you said to, however I couldn't find out how to change them. Can you tell me the steps? Yes I do have woohooer, but I found that when I removed story progression the interactions came back. So, it is definitely story progression which is causing the issue.

I just turned non-active family stasis to false and this fixed the issue, but as I've said I want to keep this on true. So, is there another way to fix the issue while keeping non-active family stasis on true?

Sim and Household Options are available on sims. Caste and Town Options on City Hall and in-game computers. There is a hierarchy of settings in SP:
Town > Lots > Household > Caste > Sim

Settings flow down from left to right. Explicit settings placed on the right (e.g., Sim) will trump those on the left (e.g., Caste).

You could try breaking the link between Woohooer and StoryProgression. I've been playing with the link off for years now for other reasons and it works fine, generally.
NRaas > Woohooer > General > Link to StoryProgression > False

If that doesn't do it, I would have to ask exactly what you are trying to accomplish by keeping the entire inactive population in Stasis all of the time as perhaps there is another less drastic way to arrange what you need.
