How can I tell what version of Sims 3 I am running?

The original catch all. General game help, banter, things you should probably put in the correct forum, This is the place.

How can I tell what version of Sims 3 I am running?

Post by Bowlady1955 » January 18th, 2019, 12:25 pm

Where do I look to find out if I'm using Sims 3 version 1.67 or 1.69? I want to make sure I'm using the correct version of Error Trap in my game, since both are listed as seperate (sp?) downloads

Thanks as always,

Cheers,
Bowlady

You can open your computers Control Panel and look in Programs and Features (or installed programs). The game launcher should also be able to tell you.
If your game is installed via Origin then you're already on patch 1.69 (most likely anyway unless you never let Origin patch the game back in 2015)
If installed by Steam 1.67

That and if you're launcher has the ability to pick which EP's and SP's to play with then you're on 1.69.

All three v100 releases of ErrorTrap are identical except for the core version identifiers -- 1.69, 1.67/disc, 1.67/Steam. If you choose the wrong one, you get a core version mismatch warning at startup but nothing else horrible happens. :)

Thank you igazor....you have come through for me yet again. I am doing the mods from the start right now, I downloaded all of them that I used before I got my new computer and I was having issues with the game starting to open then crashing, so I'm adding them back a few at a time to see which one/one's are giving me the issues. It's why I wanted to double check on the ErrorTrap mod.

I do use Origin to launch so I;m glad to know I have version 1.69

Thanks again for all your hard work.

Cheers,
Bowlady
