After awhile, sims can't use doors on community lots

I just took out all the rest of my NRaas mods. All of my custom content is out too. The doors still don't work. When I click on the doors now, the only option is "Purchase Property". My only CC left is some custom worlds. I guess I'll start taking those out, too. But I don't have a good feeling about this being a fixable problem. :-/

The only CC left is the world I'm currently playing in, where the problem most recently arose. She still can't use the doors. I guess it's not a fixable problem. :(

Very odd. Since it's happening in EA worlds too, and we know EA didn't ship the game like that, there has to be something unique to your setup that we are missing. You have no mods installed in the program files folders right? Is this an origin install? Retail disc?

It’s a combo of retail disks and Origin, installed on a Bootcamped MacBook Pro.

Is there a way to repair install or uninstall/reinstall without being forced to update the game to 1.69? I do have the superpatch to 1.67 saved somewhere...

A 1.67 install on Windows, that it's Bootcamped isn't any different, requires either all discs (including a pre-2012 base game disc) or a Steam install. Once you introduce an Origin base game, a post Sept 2012 base game disc, an Origin EP, or an Origin SP, it only takes one added to the mix, you will be on 1.69.

The SuperPatch is for bringing an all disc game up to 1.67 or to reapply in case the original patch job was incomplete. It cannot be used to downpatch from 1.69 once you get there as doing so will break the install.

Patch 1.69 and the Origin control are annoying, but shouldn't be fatal if you end up going that route.

I know it's not a widely-held opinion, but I like Origin and 1.69.

With 1.69, the TS3 launcher lets you choose which EPs and SPs to use each time you start the game, so you can keep them all installed, but still not have them affect your games. If there are EPs you'd like to use in some games, but not in others, it is really convenient.

Another advantage is that if you've registered all your EPs and SPs on the sims3.com, you can download and install the EPs / SPs from Origin, so you don't have to reinstall from your discs. My internet is fast enough that it takes less time to download the Packs via Origin than it does to install them from the discs.

I appreciate the input, but I don't want to be tied to Origin. Sounds like I'm stuck with the install I've got, and the nonfunctioning doors on community lots. Oh well.

I'm still sleuthing this issue, and Duck Duck Go found me two other people who've had it. One person didn't solve it and let it go. The other person found a hidden room marker hanging out on her lot. She deleted it, and the problem went away. The weird thing is that razing the lot and rebuilding on it doesn't fix the issue. I've already done away with and replaced with a completely different lot the one that was causing me the problems when I first posted this. Then it happened on a different lot. I replaced the lot with a version that hadn't gone buggy yet, turned on buydebug, and deleted all of the hidden room markers. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
